What is interesting, is one of the "evilist bands" in the eyes of the church, KISS, put out a song entitled "God Gave Rock and Roll to You."
Music isn't evil, it is just entertainment. But, there are many religious zealots who like to portray it as evil.
For example, Angus Young from AC/DC stated in an interview that when he was playing on stage, "something came over him", and he just played like crazy. What he was talking about was the adrenaline rush he got from performing, which allowed him to "give his all" with each performance.
This statement was twisted into a "Angus Young gets possessed by the devil when he performs at a concert" type of statement. This was done to discourage people from listening to their mucic, or allowing their kids to.

Rock and Roll isn't evil.
And some is boring as all get out - it's not all fun, regardless of the underlying religious prinicples.
There are many christians and christian bands that do not play "christian" music. From many members of U2 and Kansas years ago up to bands like Nickleback today - there are christians, christian influence and even christian "rules" working with the band.

One of the best things to ever happen to rock and roll is Christianity. Their backlash against rock has increased album sales more than any amount of promotion the record industry could have come up with.

What's evil about "rock and roll"? Many songs, if you listen to the words, are very spiritual.
Now if you said "heavy rock" I would tend to agree with you being on the evil side of life.

I don't mind Creed, though I'll admit I don't own any of their cd's.
I do have quite a collection of Van Halen (DLR, of course), Dokken, Bon Jovi (anybody old enough to remember "Runaway"?), and a little Motley Crue.
I have crazy friends from high school who still have bands and still play clubs.
It is a little surreal to really listen to the words at times. One of my favorite VH songs is "Runnin' with the Devil." I wouldn't say the words fit my values, but you gotta admit it's a killer song. ;o)

Hey I listen to Christian rock and there are some bands that are just as hard as secular ones. So i don't even agree that it is evil. ROCK ON!!!
It's what ever you can worship to. I tend not to listen to the really heavy stuff cause i can't worship to it.

Christian rock is fun too. Just went to the Chris Tomlin concert SAT night. It was fantastic. He rocked the crowd in a very uplifting way. We all danced and rejoiced, sang, etc..
It was a blast!
