Atheists who come to the Religious category are only showing a contradiction of terms and only serve to re-enforce the faith of beleivers as we have already been warned of people such as these?

I am not saying Atheists don't have a right to be here, I am asking what others think and really there's seems to be a lot of people making the assumption this is how I think, if I thought so I would of started my question with "I think" but I didn't and I also didn't ask Atheists or anyone else only those who profess to be Christian. Sorry no offense to anyone but I would like to know what Christians think.
Some should read the question and stop trying to read things into the question.

Not at all. Atheism, like Christianity is a stance. A view that can be changed. All people who profess to be born again were once upon a time not born again.

The thing to fear is when the conversation stops. When the only people we talk to are people who agree with us down the line. Let everyone express the truth as they see it, freely and openly. If I think I have a good take on what this world is all about, how can I fear another's opinion? And if I am in error, how can I deny myself the chance for another to set me straight? It is only through interacting that we have even the change of growing.

Seeing as how Atheists only pick on Christians yes.

Maybe if they also picked on Muslims and Hindus it wouldn't be so blantantly true.

Atheists and Christians have made this the Christian/Atheist catagory at Yahoo.

Very rarely do you see any other posts, except for Muslims trying to convert by using their word games which neither Atheists, Trolls nor Christians buy into, only those PC people put frosting on their cake!

How is that a contradicion in terms. I'm a master of arts in philsophy ( as well as a doctor of law) with a particular interst in the philosophy of religion. Is there a reason I shouldn't see what sort of questions are raised in the subject or religion ( as a philosopher it is as interesting to me as non-religion) or responding to them when I have something to add? I must admit when I first came on here, I hoped for a discussion of religious issues rather than the name calling that takes place on both sides.
I want to know ABOUT religon, I don't want to hear a sermon about your little denomination. So, dazzle me with a reasonsed supported argument why I should believe as you do, or in god at all, or in some minutia of metaphysics.
If I wanted to learn about dogma I would find some apologetics site and read stuff by people cliaming doctorates from P.O box 100 in the dominican republic.
Say something intelligent or go to one of those sites yourself.

No, as a Christian, I do not agree with this statement. Why shouldn't they be able to come to this category? Non-belief is just as much a belief and the Christian faith. Although they do not belief in God or in His Son Jesus Christ, they do believe in something. They do have their own spirituality, what they believe about the universe, which is why they come to the Religion & SPIRITUALITY section. Whether they believe in the Big Bang Theory or Evolution as stated by Charles Darwin or whatever, they believe in something and have just as much right to speak their minds as we do. Jesus commanded us to love one another as ourselves. If we shun those who do not believe what we believe, then we are not showing them the love God has for them. No wonder they don't believe. What reason do they have? Every time they come here and ask questions, they are ridiculed. What does that say about our faith? How can we ever expect to help anyone if we constantly drive them away?

Wow! I am a Christian, and I have learned a lot from Atheists. For example, did you know that only the English version of the Bible condemns homosexuality. The original Bible did not. The Research Department of the Catholic Church recently announced that Homosexuality is not a sin, and has never been a sin according to the (real) original Bible scrolls. --- Was your faith in an English Translation of the Bible leading you into the worst sin against God, by misunderstanding God to the point of vioating the following theme of Jesus.

Harmony is harmony; disharmony is the only sin against God.

Tell this to those who warn you against talking with open-minded Atheists.

the genuine dedicated Christians stand very sturdy for they have self assurance in. that's what keeps me coming decrease back to this trashy communicate board. If we fall away and enable non believers lie to all people, then we've not achieved our pastime as Christians. there are little ones who come here universal that are on the fence approximately salvation. If we supply up protecting the actuality, then we are letting the flaws of this international choke the observe. no longer on my watch.

I don't think it's just the athiests...it's anyone out here who brings up opinions. It's actually helped me and re-enforced my faith in God. I've been slacking in my reading of the Bible and this has gotten me back into it! I'm happy about it. Even when people give me something to think about.....then I have to dig to find answers. So I say go ahead and keep challenging Christians it helps make some of us stronger in our faith!

No. As a Christian, I am not bothered by atheists at all. I feel that they have a full right to be here and to voice their opinions as they wish. This is a public forum, after all. As for my church, it doesn't really waste time "warning" me about people with opposing viewpoints, but rather, encourages tolerance regarding them.

The second part yes, but some of these people have argued nicely, even if I do not agree. This is more of a place to talk one on one to people that we would not otherwise have the chance to talk to about Christ.
