My fiancee is a convert, and we think it would be best to have a ring ceremony to ensure his family feels apart of the wedding and not left out.

My questions is: Have you ever been to a ring ceremony?
What did they speak about during the ring ceremony? How long was the right ceremony? What did you think of it? DId it take away from the temple ceremony? Was it appropriate? Did they have the bride walking down the aisle and flower girls, etc etc???

so... I see some people say JW continue with communion because Jesus took power in 1914 but didnt 'return' yet and won't till armageddon... ok ... by why did the Watchtower say 1874... and did they change it to 1914... and will they change it again.. or am I missing something

1922 The Watchtower, 9-15, p.278
"No one can properly understand the work of God at this present time who does not realize that since 1874, the time of the Lord's return in power, there has been a complete change in God's operations."

1924 Watchtower, 1-1, p. 5
"Surely there is not the slightest room for doubt in the mind of a truly consecrated child of God that the Lord Jesus is present and has been since 1874...."

Jesus is pressent since 1874.... returned in 1874... or returned in 1914... or can they make up their minds?

Where did laws of nature come from?
Shouldn't laws continue to evolve?
Why is gravity always the same?
Where did energy come from?
Why are one or even two planets going backwards?
Why are 8 out of 91 moons going backwards?
Why are whole galaxies going a different direction?
Why are all planets so different?
If the big bang theory were true, shouldn't matter be evenly distributed?
Ever thought of these questions? Experts cannot answer them. Can you?

what do u think? Heres some info for u to consider.

Moses' law was the temporary, ceremonial law of the Old Testament. It regulated the priesthood, sacrifices, rituals, meat and drink offerings, etc., all of which foreshadowed the cross. This law was added "till the seed should come," and that seed was Christ (Galatians 3:16, 19). The ritual and ceremony of Moses' law pointed forward to Christ's sacrifice. When He died, this law came to an end, but the Ten Commandments (God's law) "stand fast for ever and ever." Psalms 111:8. That there are two laws is made crystal clear in Daniel 9:10, 11.

God's law has existed at least as long as sin has existed. The Bible says, "Where no law is, there is no transgression [or sin]." Romans 4:15. So God's Ten Commandment law existed from the beginning. Men broke that law (sinned--1 John 3:4). Because of sin (or breaking God's law), Moses' law was given (or "added"--Galatians 3:16, 19) till Christ should come and die.

Some people believe in a higher power, whether be it the Flying Spaghetti Monster, God, Buddha, etc. The rest don't know if there is a higher power or they don't believe at all.

But has anyone noticed that beLIEf is contains a lie? No offense. I'm just noting that little tiny fact.

Is it the idea of a Higher Power that is the problem?
Is there anyone who thinks they are responsible for their own existence?
Why do you see such harm in allowing our children the right to believe in a Creator? How does this belief harm anyone?
Sorry, I just don't get it.....

That question did not show up. It has to do with an experiment that conclusively proves "metaphors in the Bible" is the lamest excuse on the planet. So many Fundies have been ignoring science partially because they are too stupid to understand. But this my dog can understand, simple experiment proving the unfeasible aspects of so called metaphors in God's "word."

That sounded way too much like a lab abstract.

This is for a school project due in a couple weeks. If you don't know what your worldview is that's okay. A couple options of the most reliable source of information would be the Bible, the Quran, yourself, etc. This is just what YOU think.

If the Bible is accurate then let's say Adam and Eve never sinned then wouldn't we all live forever here on earth? Wouldn't that cause some sort of over-population? Wouldn't that be a problem? So Adam and Eve doesn't make sense to me. Life will death will be a major problem dont' you think?

I simply going to refer back to the basics and not make this to complex. Luke 1:28." And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women."
"Et ingressus angelus ad eam dixit have gratia plena Dominus tecum benedicta tu in mulieribus"

If someone is full of Grace then they cannot have sin in them brothers and sisters! And if you think this is a lie then you call The Angel of the Lord Gabriel a liar! And as we should know the Angels that remained true to God after Satan fell cannot lie! So either Mary is full of grace and hence without sin or the Angel Gabriel is a liar. To call the Angel Gabriel a liar is to call God a liar. For the Angel Gabriel cannot lie as he is a messenger of God.

Could you respect such a spirituality, with no God, no afterlife, and no soul (i.e., nothing supernatural)?

What role would such spirituality play in society and in your community?

No one can know that they are right, or I guess wrong for that matter. But we are all responsible to figuring out what to do with ourselves, even though we can never be sure that we are doing is the right thing.

All people are choosing what reality that want to believe, even if they say they are not. I believe in the Bible and know that I believe it because I chose to, and that I have no way to know that I am right, only if it feels right. But feels right is the only thing I have to go on, and it is subjective too. Everyone does this. Christens, Muslims, Atheists, there is no exception.

The thing I feel is happening in all human minds is the need to think we ARE right at this moment in time. Once you let go of the need to be right, you can start to find the truth, with unbiased judgment.

Because of subjectivity if I feel I have the one truth, then I couldn't possibly have it. All I would have done is subjectively decided I had it. To me that only means I have stopped making progress
