My fiancee is a convert, and we think it would be best to have a ring ceremony to ensure his family feels apart of the wedding and not left out.

My questions is: Have you ever been to a ring ceremony?
What did they speak about during the ring ceremony? How long was the right ceremony? What did you think of it? DId it take away from the temple ceremony? Was it appropriate? Did they have the bride walking down the aisle and flower girls, etc etc???

What you can do is have a bishop do it for you. You won't get the full vows, like you do with a "normal" wedding, but it will still be about the same. Talk to your Bishop and see what he would recommend and if he is willing to accommodate you. He could tell you the best way to do it and how the church would say to do it. I've never been to just a rind ceremony, but I do know that people have them. So check with him and see what he says!! Good luck to you!!!

Unfortunately, no, I haven't. But, if you ask your bishop, RS president, or even the temple president, they might be able to help you.

I don't see how a ring ceremony could take away from the temple ceremony.

I find it very commendable that you want to include your fiance's family like this. Congratulations and I hope everything works out!

The only one I have been to had the bride walk down an isle and her father gave her away. It was only a few minutes. It was in a church. The exchanged rings and vows. It was beautiful. It was just like a real wedding.

Yes I had one. My husband and I are converts and wanted a ceremony for our families and didnt want to wait until it had been a year from baptism to get married. We just did it at a wedding chapel and had bridesmaids, cake, dress, all that stuff.

Sorry. Never been to one. At least not one that proceeded a temple wedding.

But, if I were to say what to speak about...I'd say eternal families. This may create some interest with the in-laws.
