money!!

The old saying goes that money is the root of all evil. Jokesters will tell you that LACK of money is the root of all evil, and that may well be true. However, you have to define some parameters first, as to what evil really is. Where does merely "bad" cross the line and become "evil." If I knew this I could speculate on its roots. There is also the irony that things that may appear good on their face may in their hearts be evil. Religion is an example of this. Not just holy jihads or things of that nature, but the burning alive of innocents in the name of all that is holy can surely also be considered evil.

To ponder the root of the problem, it is important to note that where you get into trouble is with the belief system itself, regardless of what that belief is. So, by a broad definition, the root of all evil is the strong adherence to belief, no matter what that belief is. Once a belief cannot be questioned in the mind of the believer, you have lost the ability to further reason. In other words, ignorance is the root of all evil.

Hello, Bobby:

No, it is not MONEY, it is the love of money--their is a difference. The Bible says it this way: "For the LOVE of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows" ( Timothy 6:10)

Jesus said it a little different: "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God" (Matthew 10:24). He said that after a rich young man refused His offer of salvation.

How many today refuse His offer for salvation and turn away--they sell their eternity on a cheap market. They know the cost of becoming a Christian--they covet this world and shun the heavenly lifestyle--yes, the Bible even says we will be giving to God's government in Paradise by paying 10 %..

What do you get for the first five months of each year you must work to satisy our earthly rulers? No, I will take God and His Kingdom--God blessus us here, and afterword--the best is yet to come and it will be worth the wait and the cost.

There is a site that opens the only part of the Bible that it says is "closed until the end of the days." It reveals the timing of God's dealing with His rebellion, the plan of salvation, and the identity of the Antichrist power that Jesus warned us about. Check it out, Bobby, at www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

Blessings and peace, One-Way

Not money, although many will give you that answer. Read it. The LOVE of money is the root of all kinds of evil...

The love of material things. Money, property, another person's spouse....

These things and the like can be traced to the root of all wars and strife.

They tear apart rather than build up.

The root of all evil are humans themselves. If you think about it, we are the only things that cause problems in the world. Without humans, wouldn't the world be a better place?
