The short answer is man can not get it done without God's help.

Further discussion: Because all sin must be atoned for. In addition, if a man is the one doing the atonement through an animal sacrifice (old testament), there is always imperfection involved and the possibility that someone could boast about it. God took man out of the picture so that everyone would have an opportunity to receive the gift Jesus Christ offers us and with man out of the atonement process it is a 100% gift of God's grace.

Leviticus 22 to 23 explains acceptable sacrifices to God & the Feasts' associated.

Jesus was the great sacrifice to fulfill all future sacrifices..
That's why He had to die. To put an end to the old ways of atoning for sins...

and from the day Jesus died & was then resurected as a First Fruit offering to God, the Jews didn't have to make animal sacrifices anymore....they were to live under a new covenent..."the New Testament" that Jesus preached while He was with us on Earth.

Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. The sacrifice had to be perfect and without sin. Jesus was the only one who could fit that requirement.

Hebrews 9:22 - And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Acts 20:28 - Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Hebrews 9:12 - Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Hebrews 13:12 - Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

Revelation 1:5 - And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

When God created mankind, he created him perfect, with no sin. When Adam and Eve chose to eat the apple, sin entered into the human race. In order for God's plan for us to spend eternity with him to be carried out, our sins had to be wiped away and made clean. God sent his Son to do the job for us. Jesus became flesh and walked the earth as we do. He experienced everything that we experience on earth - pain, sadness, happiness, even hunger and thirst. But unlike us, he led a completely sinless life. This man, who never sinned, who did not do anything wrong, died on a cross for all of us sinners, so that we can have the life God has planned for us. A wonderful life in eternity!

Jesus died on the cross in order to pay a debt for us that we could not repay on our own. How amazing is it to know that we have a Savior like that!

In Christ,

Without blood there is no forgiveness of sins (Heb. 9:22)
The sacrifice of goats and lambs were not pleasing to God because it had to done over and over again and it kept reminding God of sin
So God chose a sacrifice that was pleasing to Him and would cover sin once, for all, His Son Jesus Christ (Heb.8:26-28) whom He is well pleased with.

Sin kept us separated from God.
Jesus was the Ultimated Sacrifce

If you read the Old Testament (Exodus) God told Moses to have the people of Israel put the blood of a lamb on the top and sides of the doorframes so that He would passover the homes that were (covered) with blood (Exodus 12:7). He wouldn't permit the destroyer to enter those homes and strike them down.

We are (covered) with the pure and holy blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 4:7) and our Father will not permit us to be destroyed or struck down.

When God our Father looks at us He sees the blood of His Son (The Lamb of God).

I'm SO GLAD you asked this question!

JESUS (pbuh) DID NOT HAVE TO DIE in order for God to forgive us. God's forgiveness is not, and never has been, contingent upon some blood sacrifice that Christians claim that Jesus made. Is God, any part of God, contingent upon anything? It is a characteristic of the created to be contingent. Is God created? No, He is not His own creation, therefore He does not share their characteristics. God is autonomous, not needing anything, not being contingent upon anything. God CREATED CONTINGENCY, so how can He be contingent upon ANYTHING???

GOD'S HANDS ARE NOT TIED. He forgives whom He wills,, He does what He wants, He blesses whomever He wants, He saves anyone He wants to save. HE NEEDS NOTHING, and that includes Jesus' death on the cross.

It was man who decided to slay Jesus, not God. God can forgive, PERIOD. He doesn't need blood atonement.

Jesus came to bring people back to God, pure and simple. He taught mankind what God taught him. He did God's will, not his own. He gave the perfect example of COMPLETE submission to the will of God. He came to show people the way back to God.

Because without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. The blood of Christ makes us all equal in sin. If we see ourselves lost sinners then we can find forgiveness in his blood. It is all we have, no good works, no mercy, nothing will wash away our sin but his blood.

He didn't, until the 4 councils got together and decided that he did, after the Romans charged him with being a hooligan.

It is a long story. My suggestion for you is to, first buy yourself a Holy Bible > find a good bible teaching church, that tells of Jesus Christ > The Triune God > and what He (God) did, has done, is doing and will do. for us all; in that my friend you shall find your answer; please do not forget to pray. You are loved.
