while at the same time those same religious people are trying to deny others their basic civil rights because they assume that homosexuality is a choice?

Religion is a choice. Should we stop civil rights protections which are based on religion?

I think God loves all people both the good and the bad. When we are not in line with God does he go away or do we turn away? Does he meet us at the crossroads and direct us to himself? I always feel that even though I'm a Catholic others may have off-shoots of other Christian protest denominations and if they are good and try their best they will be saved with the gift of their belief in Jesus. I believe that some people may or may not know God but will he save the so-called pagans if they do good. I think He will but I think through the knowledge of Jesus "the Christ" their life and it's problems would be easier to handle.

Several children in my local middle school were found playing with ouiji boards during their lunch period, and some of the girls have been carrying around books about how to do love spells so that they can get boyfriends before the upcoming dance. Most of the kids thought it was "no big deal". How can we teach our children the difference between what is harmless fun and what is dabbling in the tools of the devil, especially when society makes the two so ambiguous?

Matthew 12:31-32 says, "Every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come."

I am a christian and I do not understand this passage. I was taught that God is all forgiving. Wouldn't this contradict that? If someone could explain this to me it would be much appreciated.

Yes, i think, don't be flabbergasted!
Who is yourself? Are you a body or a mind? or something higher? (Soul)

Why are you in control of that particular body? why weren't you created the other gender? why were you placed in this time period? Is this random? Why weren't you a fish? or a dog?

Conclusion: Is there a higher power that scrambles The identities (Souls) and chooses to Which body and era they belong?

Please answer only after careful thought of this issue, don't let pre-made judgement think for you.

Thanks.

Really, do these people actually have brains to think for themselves or are they like a computer that quotes whatever they are told???

I personally think that faith should be an intensely private experience. It's YOUR connection with YOUR god, and is nobody else's business.

In terms of trying to convert someone, I'd say you should just be open to questions and let someone come to you.

What do you think?

I mean, it seems to me that the people who would claim to be highly religious are the same ones screaming the loudest that we shouldn’t do anything to curb environmental degradation. It’s not our place, it’s all “natural”, this is not god’s kingdom, the earth is merely a filling station, etc. Yet, when you read what some of the scenarios are, they sound an awful lot like what will happen if we do nothing to address our environmental crisis. And I’m not just talking about global warming; I mean they despise any kind of attitude that suggests the earth has inherent value and should be protected just for the sake of it. Yet, they will want to point and “See, I told you so. God is real and this is the end and ha-ha all you other people are gonna burn.” Will religion destroy the earth?

You point out the flaws of others, you discriminate against them, you generalise that all muslims are bad, yet you will never admit your own flaws or mistakes.

Christianity is not perfect. Islam is peaceful. It's about time people grow up, educate themselves, and realise its actualy a political issue, not religious.

"Christian terrorism is terrorism carried out in the name of furthering Christian goals or teachings. Another widely used term is Christian extremism." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_terrorism)

We all know that there are many Christian terrorists and many intolerant ones too.

WOMEN IN ISLAM VERSUS WOMEN IN THE JUDAEO-CHRISTIAN TRADITION:
THE MYTH & THE REALITY

You say we Muslim women are opressed and treated badly? Take a look at what versus in the Bible say about women and what versus in the Quran say about women regarding the same issues.

The are many questions about the after-life. This question is about the before-life.

Question: How long before birth had you been existing? And what was the nature of that existence? Was it similar to Heaven, or what?

...every time people answer, and take an unbiassed stance, why get hammered with thumbs down, obviously from both sides of the arguement/question?
Do people fear others seeing it another way, or is it the "I'm right, your wrong" complex?
Or do these people just need to take their heads out of their pooh holes and open their minds?

(This question is placed in "Religion and Spirituality" because this is the place I see it.)

Cliff notes questions to stir your spirit: If we choose to avoid sin, but still have times that we are not in compliance with the commandments, can we be forgiven immediately? Is this Jesus a God of punishment or undying love? After Jesus' being tortured, His dying and rising from the dead; is all sin now and forever forgiven or does Jesus have to do it again? Did Jesus' dying actually redeem all of mankind for all our future sins?

Do you find it odd that the Christian body is the temple for the holy spirit, yet when you go to church on Sunday's, what do you see on the snack table?

DOUGHNUTS!

Don't you think Christians should shape up the way they eat, especially at church?
