That is an interesting passage because Christianity is a Gentile religion. Here we see Jesus specifically telling the twelve apostles not to go to the Gentiles. In other passages Jesus specifically states that he was only sent to the lost children of Israel, and even calls the Gentiles dogs.

Gentile means "nations" I believe. All who were non-Jews.
