Do you find it odd that the Christian body is the temple for the holy spirit, yet when you go to church on Sunday's, what do you see on the snack table?

DOUGHNUTS!

Don't you think Christians should shape up the way they eat, especially at church?

Well, yes and no.

Should christians be healthy in all their behaviors? Certainly.

Does the bible say that... because the bible is the temple of the HS... it is a sin to eat unhealthy foods?

Jesus addressed this, specifically, when he said "It's not what goes into a man that corrupts a man... but what comes out of him... from the bounty of his heart."

Doughnuts... where do you go to church. I'm not sure about other christians but a catholic must fast an hour before The Eucharist so the only food we eat is the Body and Blood of Jesus.

Funny you should say that. I helped out with our children's program last week and in addition to the granola bars and crackers on the table, there were chips! Who gives kids chips first thing in the morning...and in church no less?

Yes, we all need to be more conscious of what we put into our bodies. And, as a Christian, I believe my body is a gift from God. I need to do a little better. Hmm, maybe I should bring in some fruit next Sunday for the kids' table. Thanks for the heads up on that!!!!!

lol, essdot!

LOL! When I saw this question, at first I thought you meant those people who go to church in skimpy attire - as in letting all the "junk in their trunk" (or elsewhere!) hang out.

But, yes, our bodies are our temples. We have a hard enough time with junk food around us everywhere else. For those who can eat it in moderation, it's no problem, but for the MANY people with food addictions, it's like having a table full of crack rocks there would be to a crackhead.

I don't disagree with you but I seriously think you need to do some serious soul searching yourself if you think that eating doughnuts is something to take serious especially when the church is dying of spiritual diseases as well as physical.

I think Christians, like everyone else, SHOULD take better care of their bodies, by watching what they eat, exercising, etc. No sense in trying to get to heaven, if you won't fit through the pearly gates! LOL.... that last part was just a joke, lighten up, people!

Let's hope the doughnuts are for those who need to gain weight and not for the over weight. I'm trying hard to get rid of extra weight so yes I strongly agree with you.

Yum! Jesus said something like this; It is not what goes into a person, it is what actions like love and forgiveness that comes out a person that make them in line with me. So with that I am going to eat a donut and pray that some day you will see the gift of good baked food and if you eat just one, remember to excercise. hw

Good ? I think as Christians maybe there should be healthier snacks. I know our church has donuts every Sunday morning. Maybe fruit would be better. Or bagels, muffins too.
