There are two types of fathers in the bible your heavenly father
and your earthly father! since a catholic priest is not your earthly father so he must be calling him your heavenly father! then if that is so are you actually calling him god?

I mean this as a serious question.

Yes, I know that Catholics and similar non-Protestants claim that even masturbation is murdering little babies, but I want scripture not dogma.

Did Jesus ever speak out against abortion? Safe sex (even between a married couple)? Wet dreams?

I know prudes freak out even having to talk about these common subjects, but there are plenty of other detailed sexual laws in the Torah. What do the actual writings say on these subjects.

Add: I do not want scripture on murder. I want scripture on calling birth control murder.

I just posted a similar message and realize I need to reword the question. Im not talking about dreams. My mom, a sound minded person intelligent person, complete straight shooter. She swears up and down that my dad, her husband before he died. . She waited some time and is concerned that I might think she is wacky but had to tell me that. According to my mom, my dad came to her at her house. They looked each other in the eyes and he said (I cant stay) put his hand on the back of her neck under her hair, kissed her and then he was gone. Has anyone had anything like this happen to them that was not a dream or a demon? I hate hearing that some think it’s a demon but I want to know what it was she saw or if anyone could explain why? It only happened once and she says she didn’t say anything to him. She describes as a good and haunting experience. She really does believe this happened.

Have you ever thought people who are Atheist's may have just had a different upbringing and choose to beleive in nothing because they grew up differently and are beyond becoming religous, the same way as you feel so strongly in you beleif's that you beyond ever becoming a non beleiver?

My understanding that before Jesus Christ came to earth You had Jews and Romans, Greeks, Arabs which were gentiles.

Since the first Christains were jews, the gentiles that accepted Christ as the Son of God then became christians themselves.

So is it your belief that in today's culture you are either a Jew a Christian or a Gentile? (Isn't Islam, Buddhism Hindusim a Gentile faith?)

up unitl last year i was a catholic and the complaints laid against the religion were often well informed
however religious criticisms of science are shockingly misinformed it makes me cringe when evolution bashers get their facts so wrong a first year biology student could correct them

my question is

is it fair to say that scientists critising religion know more about religion than religous people critising science know about science?

I have not been here very long and so far I am not impressed with the quality of some atheists. There questions seem to be childish and not well thought out. I know you like to blame trolls for this (no the trolls are not Christians, that is a total cop out on your part). So the question really is...ARE THERE WANNA BE ATHEISTS HERE?

I started going to church with my Aunt several months ago. (She's Episcopal) I enjoy the services but are not too crazy about homosexuals serving as priests and bishops. My friend is Catholic and she asked me to visit her church. Our the services similar?

If those who are ignorant aren't sinners in the eyes of God, then why do you insist on informing them? Is this really, honestly an act of love, or are you just doing it because someone did it to you, and you're POed? Either way, it's not very nice of you. Spare me your hibbityjibbity about the glory of the crown of thorns. Bottom line= they were safe, now they may have to go to Hell. What do you have to say for yourselves?

Read Matthew 1:18.
“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.”
Compare now with Luke 1:26& 27.
“And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.”
So in the miraculous birth of Jesus, Matthew mentioned the Holy Ghost and Luke mentioned the angel Gabriel. Who is the Holy Ghost then?
