I have not been here very long and so far I am not impressed with the quality of some atheists. There questions seem to be childish and not well thought out. I know you like to blame trolls for this (no the trolls are not Christians, that is a total cop out on your part). So the question really is...ARE THERE WANNA BE ATHEISTS HERE?

Oh...nasty replies will be reported...I forgot. I care because as usual...wanna-be anythings seem to be the people who cause problems for EVERYONE.

Lucky - That was not an insult unless you ARE a wanna-be atheist.

THE QUESTION IS>>>>>>

ARE THERE WANNA-BE ATHEIST HERE...WHAT PART ARE YOU NOT UNDERSTANDING?

2007-03-15 06:32:25 · update #3

I noticed that as well qual.

Andy - I know you from what others have said...you are far from the elite son. You are just the nasty...but not a wanna be at least.

Chippy...I said the trolls were NOT Christians hun...they probably are not atheists either, lol. You have a good reputation here so I have no reason to doubt you are what you say you are.

2007-03-15 06:35:44 · update #5

IQ - Sorry, I never dreamed people would not know what a wanna-be is. Its someone who pretends to be something they are not either to fit in or because they admire whoever they are emulating, or because they think its really cool (there are other reasons as well, those are the most popular).

Yes, there can be wanna be Christians...but its not that popular, lol. I see a lot of "baby" Christians on here...those are born-again Christians who are not yet sure what they believe other than what someone else tells them.

2007-03-15 06:39:41 · update #6

Please people...at least try to be decent. Wanna-be's are not agnostics, they are "pretending to be atheists" or "pretending to be Christians" or "pretending to be adults".

2007-03-15 06:44:30 · update #7

Chippy...I think they do not understand what an agnostic is...you may need to enlighten them.

No...you are not just one or the other...each of us, no matter what are beliefs are individuals...we do not all believe alike. I believe a lot different from many Christians...but I understand that someone who is pretending to be a Christian to say...pick up a girl, impress someone, find friends, get into a school, get married, etc. MIGHT pretend to be something they are not. The same is true for atheist...you really want to be seen as someone who asks a question like...did Jesus beat his disciples to get them to convert? It make YOU ALL look bad, just as the Christians make me look bad...and I tell them so...do you do anything about your wanna-bes?

You must really not have been here long or you would have seen how much poop gets thrown from both sides. As to trolls, the only genuine one I've seen professed to be Christian, and certainly talked the talk.

As to wannabe atheists, I don't understand the term. Are you saying that people are saying they don't believe in God because it's what the other cool kids are doing this term? In that case I think you've largely got your demographic wrong.

If you stick around, you can be promised an education in human behaviour, and that's about all. But it's a fun ride!

What is a wanna be atheist? A person who believes that God does NOT exist is an atheist, regardless of how well they think out their questions.

Also, in all fairness, plenty of the theists on the site ask very poorly thought out questions as well.

Edit: In response to your comment above, when I asked what a wanna be atheist was, that was a rhetorical question, which is apparently beyond your intelligence to understand. If you'd read the rest of the statement, you'd have realized that what I meant was that there IS NO SUCH THING as a wanna be atheist, for the reason that I stated in the first place.

If you are not on this forum in the interest of getting objective, thought out responses to objective, thought out questions, I suggest you go elsewhere. A religious forum devoid of free thinking people should suit you nicely.

Did anyone read the question...or are you so anxious to jump on someone that you do not take time to understand what you are asked.

The asker did not care what you were, she wanted to know if you were aware of people who were pretending to be something they were not. If you are not aware that this happens...you need to pay more attention.

Yes...there are many, many wanna-bes on here...their words, their misunderstanding of the meaning of words, their use of insults when they have no intelligent answers, the pornographic avatars and questions, the cussing...all of these things identify a person who is not what or who they claim to be.

Intelligent and truly elite people, no matter what their beliefs...never have to use those kind of responses to make their point...online or in public. POLICE CAPTAIN

I have been considered a "mole" in the atheists on here. I grew up Christian and married a Christian, so I will answer Christian questions sometimes. However, since I don't believe in God, I answer a LOT of atheist questions. My true beliefs lie somewhere between Wicca and shamanism. I wouldn't call myself a "wanna be atheist," I am who I am.

Well, some ppl who visit yahoo answers are so touchy that they'll have a cow (or blow a gasket) no matter what you say. If you said the sky is blue, someone will be offended.

Believing in God and Jesus is a win-win situation. If there is a God and I believe there is, accepting Jesus as your personal savior costs you nothing. If I am wrong and there is no Jesus (don't believe this is the case), then I still win. Following basic rules like no stealing, no murdering, no committing adultery with your neighbor's wife are great ideas anyway. If one turns one's back on Jesus and Jesus is real, then you will be in for one hell of a time after you die.

There are wannabe everything's out here, plus no telling how many flamers and agitators who just want to get a rise out of someone else, thinking it is funny. You just have to duck and dodge sometimes.

There are some pretty smart atheists in the world who are secure in their beliefs. I don't share their ideas about religion, but at least they can hold an articulate conversation without bashing someone who practices a faith.

Believers are just as bad, all of us, from all faiths...some devout and also smart, open, tolerant, and some who are just plain hateful.

Why would we possibly blow a gasket over yet another Xian posting a "question" that does nothing but condemn us all as a group and try to stir up bad feelings? We're pretty used to this bad behavior and poorly thought out questions (like this one) from you people by now, so get over yourself.

Edit : How can you write a nasty question that insults people and then threaten to report anyone who responds in the same manner you asked the question? Will you also be reporting yourself ?

I would say no because either you believe in God or you don't. Or you could be agnostic which means you don't know either way.

There are a great many of us here that accept a lot of different beliefs and don't claim to be the only way. Even Christians.

This isnt an area where someone is a wanna be, you either are or arent. The atheists who ask suck disrepsectful questions are not a representation of all atheist. They are those who seek entertainment from others reactions.

Not an atheist at all. My take is that when people have such opposing views they are not happy unless they attempt to make their counter parts wrong.
This is unfortunate b/c we are all entitled to our beliefs with respect. If you are secure in your beliefs, you do not need others to validate you.
This, my dear is the cause of most wars.
Good question...
