My understanding that before Jesus Christ came to earth You had Jews and Romans, Greeks, Arabs which were gentiles.

Since the first Christains were jews, the gentiles that accepted Christ as the Son of God then became christians themselves.

So is it your belief that in today's culture you are either a Jew a Christian or a Gentile? (Isn't Islam, Buddhism Hindusim a Gentile faith?)

I think Gentile is onyl relevant in contrast to the Jews.
Maybe because as a Catholic by birth and a Thinker by choice,
it always seemed to be an archaic word reserved for 45 minutes every other week or so.
Jews have the word "goyim"- but that means nations, and every once in a while includes themselves.
Christians have "pagans", which means outsiders, and non-believers, who are not Jewish or Muslim.
But I don't remember the term ever being used in Mass...
so I don't perceive that Christians give half a darn.
As long as we convert you, get your land and your money, we don't label anyone!

You have Jews which are Jewish people (the chosen people) and you have Gentiles who are Non Jews.

A Jew and a Gentile can both be Christians. Being a Christian is to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Anybody of any race, culture etc can follow Christ.

When in doubt, look it up:

"Most commonly, a gentile refers to any person who is not Jewish, or who is not a follower of the Jewish faith.

The word Gentile from the Latin gentilis, can either be a translation of the Hebrew goy/גוי or of the Hebrew word nochri/נכרי. In the most common modern use it refers to the former being derived from the Latin term gens (meaning "clan" or a "group of families") and it is often employed in the plural."

Isn't this a perspective issue?
To the Jews, anyone who isn't jewish is a gentile and christians are pagan.
