I believe that abortion is the same as MURDER and it is an afront to God in every way.

It is a disastardly, wicked sin, that can never be forgiven. And all the millions of women out there, who have had abortions, are also evil, wicked sinners.

And I love every one of them to pieces!

We as Christians shouldn't be asking controversial questions that are just going to get those we'd like to come to Christ upset like abortion, homosexuality and atheists. We're not showing people anything positive by doing that especially on line because some things can't be explained in writing. Would anyone like to debate me on that?

label itself as such, atheist catholic jew muslim sunni shia agnostic weak agnostic strong agnostic weak atheist strong atheist lutern budhist jew orthodox greek orthodox prodestant lutern baptist first bapist second baptist

then this species runs around having little arguements with people who aren't using the same label

isn't this a problem, it could lead to extinction,

should we on yahoo answers set an example and stop using these labels?

all these labels do is divide us,

we need one label to encompass all of us,

I propose the word "CITIZEN", that we use the word Citizen,

we would all have our own beliefs, but as Citizens, we would have perhaps a thought process of respect.

I await your ad hominem attacks on my spelling and why my idea isn't practical because I'm not smart enough.

If Christians are so loving, why do they block medical research and the cause of science?

They say we are tampering with things we do not understand yet. That science could unleash deadly viruses, blow us all up, turn us away from God. But hasn't God left us to our own devices?

Logical people know we should not hold any limitations to science. We should change as we see fit, as is natural to the environment. Progress should be the route to transcendance, not bowing down to a stale, half-forgotten religion!

Why are they so afraid of stem-cell research? Is it because it could save so many lives? Or is it because it offends their cruel, backward-looking perspective? We already have the technology to grow limbs and organs for the sick, control our birth rates, repair the environment. But they respond with vicious fear and scare tactics!

The door is in front of us, wide open. All we need do is take the final step - make THIS WORLD our Heaven - and NOT another Christian HELL!

Blood and surgery? Last night, on Discovery Health Channel, I watched a program where a woman was admitted to the ER, and she was a Jehovas Witness. Something had happened to where she was bleeding in the brain. Her husband was there, and he said he would let the surgeons do whatever they needed to do, as long as it was in keeping with their beliefs, and didn't infringe on their faith. I was only able to catch the ending of the show, and he'd mentioned something about blood, but didn't go into anymore detail. So, i'm not sure if it had to do with blood transfusions or not. The surgeon said they did the most they could do for her, and couldn't do anymore than that, without undermining the couples beliefs. She eventually ended up dying. What are their beliefs about surgery and blood?

Your thoughts on the following? No scripture quoting; speak from your head or heart.

At one end of the spectrum, the Amish; a very austere, conservative denonmination. They avoid many of the features of modern society.

At the other end, we have things like "Christian rock," - which a few decades ago was unheard of - and groups like Christian bikers and nudists.

I submit that neither is "right or wrong" in its lifestyle, but rather that lifestyle is basically irrelevant, unless your a thief or a pimp. Christianity has some core beliefs, and beyond that, it really doesn't matter whether you wear basic black - or nothing at all.

It doesn't matter whether you ride a horse-drawn carriage or a Harley. These material details have absolutely no bearing on the sincerity of one's beliefs.

The Amish's austerity does not endear them more to their God, and nudists' concept of body acceptance does not make them unappealing to their God.

We're not meant to be like sausage links or drones.

In this scenario, you will come to the same conclusion every time. You have no ability to make a different choice. The brain runs like a computer and your thoughts are output. The output will be the same if you have the same initial state and the same input. If that is the case, how can you possibly say you have free will? Your choices are determined by physics and chemistry, not free will.

Or is true that atheists (just like any religous people) can be just as bad as anyone else? Weren't Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot atheists? This is not meant to attack atheists. I realize that most of you would not want to kill people just for having a religion. Do you also realize that most religious people (of all the various faiths) are not intolerant fundamentalists spreading ignorance and hatred? Do you see the intolerance that also emanates from some in your own camp?

As I gazed out one morning
From the skies, there came a warning
Of impending things to come
For us all, and not for some

Soon the winds will gale
Sending down a mighty hail
We’ll see visions from our past
For some moments, they will last

And some will surely cry
Thinking they are doomed to die
From the sky, an angels face
Searching for those, who fell from grace

Then she covered me with a wing
Protecting me from everything
She said that he has chosen you
And some others, but just a few

You will go out and spread the word
Making sure that it is heard
I said I’ll head the call
And will spread to one and all

He has said the world can live
For our sins, he will forgive
Then I woke up from my sleep
And my promise, I’ll still keep

A friend went to worship from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m Sunday night. Later the next morning she didn't get important homework done because she didn't study last night.

This is christianity based stuff. Believe God is God, Jesus, and holy spirit. On the lines of methodist, baptist, church of God... those guys.

By worship, I mean were talking about going to a university chapel (mini church) and sing contemporary popular worship songs and some popular hymns (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder...). This is done with other university friends late at night, by themselves in an empty chapel that's never locked. People bring guitars, and they're already all good friends. They sing, get emotional, close their eyes, get on knees, and sometimes discuss they're thoughts of life topics, like maybe the meaning of life.

The homework, is just an assigned piece of work due in class the next morning.

So... it pertains to, "what is worship" and priorities of a christian...

Let me know your thoughts!
