We as Christians shouldn't be asking controversial questions that are just going to get those we'd like to come to Christ upset like abortion, homosexuality and atheists. We're not showing people anything positive by doing that especially on line because some things can't be explained in writing. Would anyone like to debate me on that?

I think we should call sin sin but that there's a proper place and to time to do it. That when it comes to our attention we need to address it but I don't think we need to go after other people on Y/A's about it.

I agree that some are going about trying to convert people the wrong way. Telling them that they are going to hell, etc. is just plain stupid. Rational, intelligent people (which most Atheist are) are not going to listen or respect you. They will see you all as air heads. And we haven't even gotten into the debate about abortion and homosexuality, about which not all Christians share the same view. If you want to convert others, do it by your life. I was once an Atheist and no right wing fundamentalist ever did anything for me except make me fighting mad. God doesn't need an enemy when he has the fundamentalist. They make the whole religion look like a joke. I wish they would just STOP IT! Please THINK first, people. It is called empathy. How would you want to be treated if you were an Atheist? What would Jesus do?

what's there to communicate? The Bible -- both the former and new testomony -- is amply sparkling on the problem... homosexuality is an abomination, and dealing in route of homosexuals must be kill to stay away from moral corruption. "God Hates Fags" -- there are not any room for interpretations! As a Christian you need to assume that the Bible is the note of God, that that is honest and unchanging. That God would not substitute His suggestions, and that He understand each and everything, both destiny and previous. So if the Bible says homosexuality is a marvelous sin and homosexuals must be killed, then this must be taken as God's words. for sure, we may be able to rationalize that the international has replaced and we produce different values immediately than at the same time as the Bible grow to be written... or that the Jews had causes to end homosexuality some time previous at the same time as (like the will for most children to construct a militia to take Israel from that is unique vendors)... yet then you quite also admit that the Bible is written through people (no longer God), and could be incorrect -- or a minimum of my no longer be unchanging. yet when the Bible do not carry absolutely the reality, then you quite have highly a lot torn down the beginning of Christianity! No, as a Christian, at the same time as there are discrepancies between the Bible and immediately's society; then you quite ought to assume that is the society it is faulty! If the openness in immediately's society helps homosexuality, then it must be society it is faulty. because you need to trust the Bible is written through God, and therefor ought to *continually* be maximum ideal!

We as Christians can never be afraid of controversial questions. Sin is sin, and if we are going to be people of the Book, then there will always be subjects that some people find uncomfortable.Christ had no problem being controversial, so why should we? Everything has already been explained in writing. It's called the Bible.

Essentially that was what was done with prayer in schools?
And then how long before we avoid talking about the sin of child abuse or child porngraphy because it might offend some of the proponents?
We are called not only to point to Christ and Him crucified, but also we must remember to not back away from calling sin, sin.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one. Jesus asked all kinds of controversial questions. Ignoring issues like abortion and homosexuality does not make them go away. I believe if you can't put down what you believe in writing, then you many not have a clear view of what you believe. There are always going to be issues that even as Christians we disagree about. John Wesley said it best when he said (paraphrasing) Jesus Christ first, everything else is negotiable.
