While observing the statistics of Nepal, India and Mauritius I noticed that the Hindu majority has decreased by few percent. If this rate continues, do you think Hinduism could lose its hold as a majority in these countries

All religions are decreasing. In this day and age there are no more people that are religious. All the children don't believe in anything but their MTV, or their I-Pods. So yeah i think Hinduism is decreasing, but mostly in the United States of America. Don't worry i think the way religion is dropping in Nepal, India, and Mauritius it is only because of people migrating, and nowhere in the near future will they lose their majority.

I think this is like when the Muslims say that Islam is the fastest growing religion and that there are more women than men on the planet so it is important for men to marry more than one woman -- just made-up statistics so that they can make themselves feel better.

I hope not. From what I've learned the Hindus are probably some
of the most peaceful people on this earth. We lose them and
we're stuck with fundies and extremists.

Given that there are something like 850 MILLION Hindus in India alone....I wouldn't hold your breath.

I don't know, but I recently read that Buddhism is making a serious come-back in India... it's an interesting thought.
