"He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have children when He has no wife? He created all things and He is the All-Knower of everything"

(Quran 6:101)

The LITERAL "son of God" has to have both of two Characteristics.

1. He must have come from God OR He must have receive his life from God.
2. He must be the same kind of being as God otherwise he is not the son.

But each attribute excludes the possibility of the other.
If he receives his life from God, then he is not the same kind of being as father because God does not receive His life from anyone, that's why He is God.
If he is the same kind of being as God, then he is NO ONE'S son, because God is not the son of any being.

We see now that the two requirements in this case are Mutually exclusive. In Short, It is IMPOSSIBLE that God can LITERALLY have a son.

AGREED ???

I feel that not in the internet, when you are just begining to know each other, it should be in person. Unless you have a long long serious relationship you can reveal your past. But it should not be said when you have friendship relationship with a guy, but if your courting you should have the right, not to say anything, unless there is a posibility of marriage. And if you know the person well and you feel he will be confident about his trust you can tell him that way it gives a chance for him to know you better, before you tell him what happened in your past.

Given this:

Stalin was an atheist

The Communist Chinese were atheists

Why is it that so many people persist in believing that the world would be better off without religion? Atheists are capable of ***-kicking too, so don't blame religion for all the world's ills. If we had no religion, human beings would find all kinds of new and interesting ways to kill each other and treat each other like crap.

Who's with me on this?

MY EXAMPLE

She taught, by example, how to dress like a Christian woman. Although she was well dressed, Mother did not conform to the fashion of the world. She was a conservative. "Always remove one piece of jewelry before you leave the dressing room," she would tell me. She never wore earrings, or lipstick, and never, NEVER dark red nail polish--in fact, no nail polish at all. For her, it was a sign of "worldliness." It used to be for everyone. To mother, this was "world conformity"--and maybe she was right? When GERTRUDE SANBORN got up to teach or sing, her clothes, her jewelry, or her hairdo did not distract her listeners. They saw Jesus.

I am an Atheist. So many christians say they pray for me, they don't want to see me go to hell, they want to save me, etc. This is silly to me (for some reason they can not grasp the fact that I don't believe in god, heaven, hell, prayer, etc.) but I appreciate that they care, I guess. But my question is, shouldn't they be praying for and trying to save there own first. There are christians who judge, belittle, call names and otherwise act very un-christian like. Some of the closed-minded bigots that call themselves christian make me sick. Maybe christians should work on saving themselves before they work on saving me?

And I know there are some Atheist who are mean and rude to others, I am not one of them. Everyone should be able to believe in what they want, without being told they are wrong, bad people or going to hell.

I have only a 1000 characters to work with in these additional details, so i won't name my whole list of books that taught me more about life than the Bible. But approximately how many books taught you more about life?

Why is it so hard for some opponents of gay marriage to grasp that by defining Marriage as the union of two people (man and woman, man and man, woman and woman) will not lead to people marrying snakes and dogwood trees?

It seems the Christians who oppose gay marriage always throw the argument out of "then we'll have to allow people to marry their lawn chair, their snakes, or an apple tree."

It could very easily be written into law that marriage is the union of *two* people. No matter what sex they are, it's only two people.

So, I guess the debate could arise of whether you consider your houseplant to be "people", but I don't think that would get very far. Maybe just to make those individuals more secure, we should define it as the union of two *human beings*.

Would that make you feel better? I think that would even solve the polygamy rebuttal!

To me it seems that many turn to religion for "salvation" or "direction" but at the same time it seems to be the driving force behind most of the bloodshed between cultures AKA war. Whether it be the current Isreal conflict, Islam vs Christianity, World War 1 and 2, religion in mind does more harm than good. So I ask you Yahoo people. Does religion do more damage than good?

When I pray I dare not ask for personal things. The problems seem so small and useless compared to the major problems in the world. Should I concentrate on praying for the big problems, or can I pray for the small things in my own life? Can I ask for goods (God, give me a car), or should I only ask for non-physical things, like good relation with my neighbour. Can I ask for things that maybe I could do myself (good relation with my neighour), should I first have tried to do it myself? Once again, these problems seem so small, and insignificant. Can I pray for things that are good for me but not for others? Like: God let my sporting team win? Like: Let us win the war? Like God bless America? Shouldn't it be: God bless the world?

This past friday evening at work, I came to one restroom I did not want to clean;just simply pass it up. The Holy Spirit simply asked me "Has Christ ever short changed You?" I said " No" He asked " Why Start Now?" So I went ahead and finished the clean up. I know there seems to be a passage for this. yet Our God is awesome when He confronts us right on our tracks. He loves us to confront us to keep us on our path towards Him~
