I thought it was that L. Ron Hubbard book, with the cover that reads like McDonald's -- Billions and billions served!

And what's un-realistic? Genesis which described the Big Bang theory 6,000 or more years before Science did?

That's pretty creative thinking for some ancient Semites!

Morals are unrealistic? Don't cheat, steal, lie, kill, worship idols and statues, be jealous of your neighbor and what they may have. Love, be tolerant, turn the other cheek instead of reacting or fighting back out of anger, help people out, carry things further than they ask!

Those things are unrealistic!

You never had friends come and help you move! When your footing was unsure or something too heavy, a strager on the street didn't stop and help you until you got things under control again!

You fall and no one helps pick you up!

You're short a dime for a phone call and no one gives you a nickle or two!

Your car dies and someone with jumpers doesn't stop and help you out!

You think people got this way from the Ranomist theories or because of a long history of biblical teachings that, even when rejected, still permiate the being.

It be interesting to start two civiliazations. ONe with no history. You just plunk them there and see what happens.

The other, you instruct in a Paterinal way, with laws, commandments, restrictions. After a while you remove the God and see what happens.

Paralell development. Which culture does what after 2,000 years!

Be an interesting experiment. One the social scientsts shuld try some day.

No, the Bible doesn't fit in the fiction section.

I think perhaps, the Bible sells so well because it's a book about everything. People have a natural curiosity about things they've heard about the Bible. I read it from cover to cover and found that it wasn't what I expected. It was more. It's a history book. It's also the greatest love story of all time, in that you will see how loving and tolerant the Creator is. It was very enlightening and some of it scared the hell out of me, especially Revelations.

I am not a religious fanatic, but I would recommend the book. If one is not a believer, read it for the entertain aspect.

The Bible is MOSTLY but not ALL fiction. True there are alot of opinions in their, but that isn't that the point. The point is to tell alot of stories that happened in the Bible days. It's best selling because it's true and it should not be in the fiction section, it's more of a biography type deal. I have Bible myself and I think it is NOT the most unrealistic book of all time!

The Bible is the Word of God. In it you can see how God has dealt with the human race and also what will happen in the future. No other book that has ever been printed can give you that information. It tell you how you can obtain salvation by believing and trusting that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins and how He rose again on the third day so you can stand righteous before God. It also tell you what will happen to those that have rejected God's payment for sins. It tells you about a place called hell and a coming judgment and a lake of fire. It also tells you about a new heaven and a new earth where people will live in peace forever. It is not a fictional but is a Book that has been inspired of God and kept the ages. Psalms 12: 6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalms 12: 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Well let's think about it. Why would it be the best selling book of all time? Why do people convert to Christianity knowing that their muslim families will disown them? Why do people die to spread the word of the Bible? Why do people leave behind everything to follow Jesus? Would any logical person do this for fiction?
In the UK there is actually a Jedi religion. How many of them would choose death over rejection of their religion they know to be false? None.
The reason is that the Bible is true. There is more archeological evidence to prove it true than untrue. You know this to be true as well. But if living a lie keeps you happy, then go for it. Only you can decide.

The application of unrealistic to the bible is different for some people. Some people find the bible's stories word from word. Some even go on to prove it scientifictly. These people would view as realistic and place it in the non fiction section. People take hold of religon to explain the unknown, and to infact keep them sane for their time here on earth. Culture also plays a vitial role in religon. In some cultures there is a bible in every house. Then there are some people who like to view the bible within the strict rules of nature and view it as completely realistic. It all depends on the person.

Because many things contained in the Bible have proven true, and not only that it contains prophecies that have been fulfilled and are soon to be fulfilled, and inspires many people.
The only reason why you might think it's unrealistic because YOU can't make many of those things happen. Just because you are limited in your power doesn't mean that you should question something (God) that has more power than you.
Human intelligence is hardly the greatest. Your lack of humility and your pride is most likely the very thing that's keeping you from accepting things as facts just because you can't explain or prove them. *sigh* That's what's wrong with man...

I believe it is the best-selling as an ironic testimony to the very real and awesome existence of God. And no, it shouldn't be in the fiction section, as it contains so much history and prophecies that are being fulfilled today.

When you get to know God and are sincere with Him, it's easy to take the Word at its word because you love God so much and trust Him. When you are convinced by Christian resources, answered prayers, personal experience, or whatever else, it makes SENSE that the world was created in only six days six thousand years ago, that God got pissed and wiped out the majority of the population with a flood, and anything else the world finds hard to believe.

The reason it isn't in the fiction section is because a majority of people believe in it. You can't fight religion cause if you try there will be millions of people telling you that you are wrong. That is why those types of books have their own section in the library. Also how can you say they are fiction? Secondly it is a resource for believers so it really can't be in the fiction section.
