Can I sin in moderation instead of using them all up right at the beginning? I will still have sinned less in the long run than the recovering drug addict born agains who think they are better than me.

Because it's the ultimate easy cop-out.

Oh, don't be mistaken - we Christians still do the wrong things. God doesn't take away our free will. We make wrong choices, end up in poor situations, hang out with the wrong people. We just become convicted of it, ask for forgiveness (which is granted), and try not to do it again. I guess you could say Christians have the most scraped up knees in the universe - from falling all the time and getting back up to try again. All sins are equal in the eyes of God. Your "moderate" sins are just as dangerous to you and mankind as those that have been deemed illegal by mankind.

Jesus Christ has redeemed you of all your sins. The more you sin, the more you realized how merciful He is towards you.

Most people finds Jesus after they did every wrong thing because they don't have anyone to turn to. They are desperate for someone to help them from their situation so they try any help they can get. A lot of people who chose Jesus as the answer, never regrets it.

P.S. Sin is not the issue.

Sin keeps you from the presence of God... so why would you want to sin....Hell is a real place! Moderate sin....there is no such thing! God's not keeping a score board of who sins the most.... He just want's to know, what did you do with Jesus? Accept Him or reject Him.... the choice is yours... and eternity depend on your choice. He can forgive all your sins... and clean your slate and let you start all over fresh and clean... Give it a try.... He loves sinners....Give Him a chance and then do what He says!

Haven't you read the story of the prodigal son?

He led a disgusting life but repented at the end and there was JOY from his father that his son had finally realized his folly and had come to a repentance.

Don't be like his jealous brother...be happy for everyone who sees the sunshine after the rain.

Haven't they suffered enough living in darkness?

No one is better than anyone else in God's eyes, and pouting doesn't make us look any better in His eyes either.

Be happy you know Him and be happy when others find Him too.

Yeah... it would be a shame to want to sin, then find out I'd used all mine up. (Darn my lack of self-discipline! Darn it!) :)

Anyhoo.

People find religion of all types for various reasons. And some people only sense their desire for faith after they've suffered a great deal doing lots of bad things.

Some in this situation are just looking for escape, some are actually remorseful.

And we all know some people who change are initially very zealous and can come across as "better than" others. Often they settle down after awhile.

I'd take it on a case-by-case basis.

I do think you should honored by getting such a lengthy personal response from Deepest-Blue, to think that someone would take so much time to write to....

...oh, wait -- he was just block-copying some guy named "Chaplain Yusuf Estes."

(Tough luck, kiddo...)

Why is it that most of the people who talk about christians keep reiterating that christians think they are better than them? As for drug addicts they believe in a Higher Power and that is a God of their understanding. This helps them stay sober. Trust me they do not think they are better than you. Learn to love yourself. If you believe what you believe than be okay with that. Someday you may change your mind but for today accept yourself for where you are in your life. To know Jesus the Holy Spirit has to come to you. Without it, it is like all these people say, meaningless. I spent most of my life not knowing Jesus and I thought I was doing just fine. There came a time in my life that everything went so far out fo control I reached out to him. The Holy Spirit came to me and changed me. It blew my mind as much as my family's. Sunday mornings I used to sit and read the newspaper. I now feel a love stronger than any I have ever known. I have been married, I have given birth. I thought I knew love. Knowing Christ's love is stronger than all of them put together. This makes no sense to someone who has not experienced it. That is why I don't push it on anyone. They see the change in me. My children don't believe as I do and I love them and tell them everytime they leave the house. I don't force them to go to church. I pray for them and do the best I can for them. I do not believe anyone will come to Christ by having him shoved down their throat. I just want who ever is reading this to know that in your time of need he will be there if you invite him in. Peace.

Perhaps they wish to have a foot in both camps....no God and spirit world and also Christianity that says you can be saved. What a comforting thought when you have sinned your whole life!

Because sometimes you have to hit rock bottom in life before you yourself finds out personally that they can't get through life on their own, with out Jesus as their savior.

Jesus said He came to save the lost, to heal the sick. That's who He looks for, the ones who need Him most.

you need to stop playing games and realize that there is a heaven and hell---and you will live in one of them for eternity---period!
Stop rationalizing why you don't need JESUS and realize that once you know HIM and truly give your life over to living for GOD ---you will want to live a holy and righteous life!!
Aren't you tired of not having peace true peace in your life, aren't you tired of not being able to trust people, don't you know that there is a better way!!!
