People can't be forced to follow Jesus, so what's the uproar all about?

I just love how people like Carol M get all high and mighty with the word of God and preaching, but absolutely avoid answering the question at hand!

They care about gay marriage because they see it as a choice, and it's something they don't understand. They believe that their children will be coerced into making this "choice" if gay marriage is allowed. They fear it will ruin the "institution" of marriage.

The straights have already done a nice job of ruining that institution themselves with divorce rates nearing 60% and adultery rampant. Still, since they can't fix it, they want to help validate an "institution" by defining it in the Constitution and in some way feel that will restore nobility and grace to an already defunct "institution".

Not just Jesus. Muslims say homosexals should be killed, just like the Bible says!

Not all Christians beleive in free will. Many beleive in predestination, but then, of course, one has to speculate: Did God created Homosexuals!?

We have to define homosexual, by the way. True ones develop their feelings and attachments by the age of 5. Converted ones get that way becasue they either can't get any in the hetro world or something about the hetero way bothres them or doesn't give them gratification!

See, a 5 year old doesn't get gratification. You don't "get your rocks off" at the age of 5. YOu just know you like your own sex very very much over the opposite sex.

I'm a guy and I had three girl friends between the age of 4 and 6!

The big reason is because "marriage" has become an institution of traditional man and woman, designed to "formalize" and "legitimize" propegation.

The Bible also calls homsexuals abominations, but they also feel that way about Fornicators too and, Heavens knows, the churchs of the world are filled with fornicators. Go check the "full term birth" records against the marriage ceremoney and see how many months the spread is! Christains know when their friend gave birth 6 months later she fooled around before marriage.

So, if Fornicators are the same as Homosexual, then few people are going to Heaven!

It's conservative vs. liberal.

Why are there so FEW women Ministers!

Few rarely ask that question! But it's true! Most relgions don't allow it because of the rules of Peter and Paul saying Women must be Silent in Church.

See, we have a hard time bending and breaking these traditions.

Women, Blacks and American Indians only truly became "of age" in this new Millenium!

How many centuries passed before the WASPM allowed you to "be kinda equal" or at least "tolerated."

Does God make all forms of abberations? Blind, deaf, mentally retarded. I'm not trying to classify Gays in that pattern, but if Predestiantion exists, then all sorts of things are created by God and for a reason.

Do we question God's will and design?

God is watching. There is a book a life!

This is where Free Will comes into play for most.

Do you follow some book written long ago with great prejudice or do you throw off some of the bonds like JEsus did. Look at the examples of JEsus, stopping the Stoning of Mary who was a fornicator. Let those among you with no sin cast the first stone!

If Jesus came to Earth today and took the side of Gays, would Christians call him a heretic and demand he be crucified for calling himself Son of God and violating the terms of the bible!

If so, then we've learned nothing in 2,000 years.

Why do Christians still hate the jews! JEsus was a Jew. If you hate the Jews, then you hate Jesus, a practising jew who taught in the temple!

Because they believe marriage can only exist between a man and a woman because that is how it is described in the bible. The real issue with gay marriage is all about money and taxes. Forget all the religious BS the fanatics are spewing - as far as the government is concerned there is a question as to whether or not a gay married couple has the same rights as a straight married couple because it is not a traditional relationship.

And for the record - one does not choose to be gay. A person's sexual identity is defined by the age of six. The only choice a gay person has is when and whether or not they want to come out of the closet and be true to themselves.

The bible states that gay marriage is wrong. Marriage is between a man and a woman. And most catholic people believe every word written in the bible. They only believe in free will if it pertains to the rules of the bible. Love everyone, except gay people and people who do not believe in Jesus. Them's the rules.

I am a Christian and I do care about gay marriage because there is no such thing as same sex marriages. God ordained marriage and the legal system just legistates. God ordained a man and a woman to come together as man and wife. If you don't like God's laws then take it up with him. But if you legistate that same sex unions are okay then you will also have to say polygamy is okay as well as women marrying snakes as well as any other thing you want to call a marriage. The reason to legistate against same sex marriage is that it harms women and children. Women would be taken advantage of by polygamist. Who would be able to tell if the guy your walking down the isle with isn't married to 10 other women. That is the reason not to allow same sex marriage.

I'm a christian myself...and I'm pretty sure someone has already posted it..but I'm gonna say it again...in the Bible..it says its wrong. It's a sin. But like you said...people can't be forced to follow Jesus. But as a Christian and you can HELP people to WANT to follow Jesus..and if they choose to follow, they will. But if the choose not to, then pray for them. For the longest, my sister was gay and I prayed all the time for her. Just a few weeks ago...she calls me and tells me that she wants to change her lifestyle...you don't always have to talk to people and try to make them follow Jesus...you can also pray for them, Prayer changes things.
Take Care and God bless.

Hey, no one is forcing anything on anyone. Gays are going to hell by their own choosing, and Christians are going to heaven by their own choosing. It is the individual choice of a person that places them either in heaven or hell. I am a christian and the word of God said homosexuality is an abomination, and thats good enough for me.

Come judgement day and God is asking you why you did this and why you did that and even for the people that don't believe you're going wish you hadn't done this and you hadn't done that because unless you repent of your ways, all you get is a one way ticket to hell!

Because they (the ones we're talking about, not all of them) like to play god and judge others instead of just let them be and let their god handle the judging.
