"He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. How can He have children when He has no wife? He created all things and He is the All-Knower of everything"

(Quran 6:101)

The LITERAL "son of God" has to have both of two Characteristics.

1. He must have come from God OR He must have receive his life from God.
2. He must be the same kind of being as God otherwise he is not the son.

But each attribute excludes the possibility of the other.
If he receives his life from God, then he is not the same kind of being as father because God does not receive His life from anyone, that's why He is God.
If he is the same kind of being as God, then he is NO ONE'S son, because God is not the son of any being.

We see now that the two requirements in this case are Mutually exclusive. In Short, It is IMPOSSIBLE that God can LITERALLY have a son.

AGREED ???

yes God can give life. but we are talking about begotten son of God. see a son of horse is horse and have characterstics of a horse. A son of man is a man and a chracterstics of a man. similarly, the son of God , should have to be God and characterstics of God. God is eternal , no beginning no end, The son will have to have beginning. therefore, God cannot have a son, because only God is eternal.

thats what people believe. we are talking about begotton son of God. not "son of God" in a sense of servant of God or a being who is closer to God. That will be different case. Christians also believe that Jesus was begotten son of God. means God beget Jesus. Begotten means to beget i.e. to procreate. Begetting is an animal act belonging to the animal function of sex. How can we attribute such a lowly function to God. It follows by logical necessity that if God is one, and if He is eternal, Then He does not beget , Nor is he begotten. Because if He beget, then He will have a child then the child will have to be God-like. So there will then be two Gods. Since there is only one, you cannot have two. OR If he was begotten, that means he would have father. Then the father will be older than him, wiser than him, more eternal than him. and you cannot have one who is more eternal than ETERNAL.

sis, but thats what christians quote from bible.
John, Chapter 3 verse 16.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

now, if you say that Jesus was God in flesh and part of trinity. i ask you that Furthermore, Was Trinity a "duality" before Jesus was begotten by God?

Colossians 1:15 "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature"

The Scriptures affirm that Jesus had a beginning. There was a time before that when God was alone. No scripture says Jesus is co-eternal! Therefore Jesus cannot be Co-eternal.

For your information, muslims dont worship anyone other than Allah. To worship God alone is basic creed of islamic faith. To touch the rock does not mean we are worshipping it. neither can it benefits us, nor can it harm us, we touch it because Muhammad (s) (a messenger of God and a man ) touched it.

you said that Jesus has all of God's attributes. One of the attribute of God is that He is eternal. no beginning no end. and the verse which you quoted confirms this. Colossians 1:15 "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature" >> firtborn means he had a beginning , unlike God. Therefore, Jesus cannot be literal son of God , because he is not eternal being.

This is an ancient debate. I would read about the Arian Heresey. It is a little heavy and deals with the Greek term homoüsion (like substance). Arius, the heretic, believed that The Son was created in time after the Father was in existence, and

1) there was a time when the Son did not exist
2) the Son was inferior to the Father

This didn't catch on and was subsequently dismissed as a heresey at the First Council of Nicea. Unfortunately, a few rogue priests went around and converted the barbarian Germanic tribes so the heresey lasted for about 300 years before they were converted to orthodoxy (from the 4th to the 7th century).

The argument was a question of semantics of Greek words. Very few people today read the bible in Ancient Greek so questions of the nature and substance of The Son typically do not include this part.

I can assure you that the discussion over the Ancient Greek has reached the same conclusion and did so nearly 1700 years ago.

I agree, but because of a really obscure and complicated reason I discovered while studying Ancient Greek.

God is not a physical being. He is not made of bones and cells and DNA. God is a spiritual being. That's why it doesn't make sense to think that God would need a wife to have a son. But still, I know nothing about what God is like except what he has revealed to us about himself.

In the bible, Jesus is called the Son of God - the bible says all things were created through Jesus, and that in Jesus we all live and move and have our being. The bible says that Jesus has always existed and will always exist. He has no beginning and no end.

Jesus accepted worship from his disciples, no prophet or angel ever did that! No one is worthy of worship but God alone - to worship anything other than God is idolatry.

Jesus said "I and the Father are one" and "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father"

Jesus walked on water, calmed a storm with his voice, and when he spoke it, the dead came back to life.

Jesus has the power over diseases, over nature, over even life and death. Now all of these things together tell me that the creator of all of the universe chose to come down to earth and visit his creation.

Do I know what that means? No. Of course there is so much about God and what he is really like that I do not understand. I simply accept what he has told us about himself.

Jesus was born as a result of immaculate conception.. no man and woman came together to create a child.. God provided the conception to the virgin Mary so that he would come into the world free of sin and also to live among man. The word begot simply means "to procreate as the father". God is Jesus' father. It also means "to produce as an effect or outgrowth". God produced this child in a miraculous way to effect the savior of man, (For God so loved the World that He gave his only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life. John 3:16) That meets both your criteria... He has a father (in the Bible, Mary knew who the Father was), and since God is the supreme being that created EVERYTHING, He was able to create His son in man's image to offer salvation to those that believe.

Jesus is Gods manifestation of Himself in the flesh. To understand how Jesus is the Son you have to understand ancient ways of expressing ideas. For example, when a person had certain charactaristics, say they were very generous, it would be said that they were the son of generosity. In the same way Jesus is called the Son of God because He has all of his attributes, and in fact He is the express image of Him(col 1:15)
He is the One and only Son because it is the only time that God would reveal Himself in that way.
If ypu look in the book of John, Jesus calls Judas the "son of perdition".This is the same concept, perdition described Judas' character.

You are arguing about something that has come up again and again, but is agreed by most Chrsitians to be a mystery. It's similar to the strong idea in Islam that you shouldn't worship objects and yet millions of muslims go every year to touch a black rock. It's just a mystery.

1. Jesus does not know of the Day of Judgment.
Matt 24:36 But of that day and hour no man know, not the angels which are in heaven, nor the son, but only the father.

2. Jesus does not have unlimited access to God's knowledge.

Mark 5: 25-32 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed. Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, Who touched my clothes? But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.

3. Jesus himself acknowledges that the Father is greater than himself and how he does not have the ability to access his father's resources,

* Jon 14:28 My father is greater than I.

4. The following verses further prove how Jesus is unable to tap into all the powers of God.

Luke 6:12 One day Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray and spent the night praying to God.

Hebrews 5:7 During Jesus days on earth, he offered prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him?

Matt 27:46 My God My God why hast thou forsaken me?

Both honestly. God despatched His handiest begotten Son to die for our sins, however God additionally got here Himself on account that God was once IN CHRIST reconciling the sector unto Himself no longer imputing our trespasses and sins and many others. (two Cor five:19). God got here to earth INSIDE THE FLESH FORM OF JESUS CHRIST (John a million:14), and as I mentioned prior, the traditional brain/guy can not appreciate the matters of the Spirit of God (God is a Spirit John four:24), the matters of God are foolishness to the traditional bodily brain/mind on account that they need to be spiritually discerned (a million Corinthians two:14)

I might be off track, but if you referring to those of us who refer to Jesus as the Son of God, then you are looking at things the wrong way. Jesus was God in the flesh.....God in human form. Jesus wasn't to God as you are to your father. God isn't human, therefore humans cannot completely understand all that He does. That is where faith comes in.
