When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." (Matt. 16:13-14)

He who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it." (Rev. 3:12)

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did."" (Matt. 21:32)

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.” (1 John 3:14

IWomen received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection." (Heb. 11:32-35)

If God made man, why did he give him a brain, which when used man results in rejecting god as a concept? Why would god give us a brain of logic and then ask of us to refrain from using it, but instead just accept a truth based on anything but logic?

Are you going for entertainment value? Think about it before you answer. Did you church-hop until you found a church that "spoke your language", i.e. entertained you the way you wanted?

I made a statement about fundamentalist christians who blame rape victims being as bad as the taliban. this is a response I received......

wow your ignorance is really showing today.....I have never heard such a lie in my life...I have never heard a Christian say that a rape victim was to blame....you are just trying to stir up conflict.....why don't you do the right thing and be respectful of others.....your lies are too evident for anyone with any sense to agree with you....what you have just done by spreading lies to suit you ..makes you no better than the taliban....they are not worthy and have no respect only hate for everyone that doesn't believe as they do ...sounds alot like your judgmental question.....your true self is showing and it is very ugly......

notice that he conveniently didn;t notice the term fundamentalist in the comment. And he claims no chrisitian has ever said such a thing. visit fstdt.com

This is verse #1 of part 1 of Question.
Please answer intelligently and don't respond with this verse from the bible Hebrews 9:27 says: "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: "Because I have more than one verse that I am questioning that seems to reflect the opposite view.

And the disciples asked him, saying, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?" But he answered them and said, "Elijah indeed is to come and will restore all things. But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him, but did to him whatever they wished. So also shall the Son of Man suffer at their hand." Then the disciples understood that he had spoken of John the Baptist." (Matt. 17:10-13) This is the one ... there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist ... And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. He who has ears, let him hear. (Matt. 11:11-15)

To quote the Catechism of the Catholic Church, "...by the consecration of the bread and wine there takes place a change of the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body of Christ our Lord and of the whole substance of the wine into the substance of his blood."

It seems to be the Roman Catholic position that this sacrament is not merely symbolic, but that the substances involved undergo a real (if invisible) transformation into flesh and blood. But if they are REALLY flesh and blood, doesn't that make all Catholics cannibals?

Lets try to leave aside, for the moment, the question of whether all the other denominations that participate in symbolic cannibalism are also symbolically guilty of it.

If you knew the Bible like I know it, you would understand that the greatest minds in the world could never even come close to making up a book like this. If you knew how many people did write it, over how long a period of time, and how after it was all put together it has a scarlet thread running throughout it that could never have been planned by the smartest book editor on earth. I challenge anyone to prove the Bible isn't true.

I know I might not get many answers to this, but I was wondering if anyone had read this book and what they thought of it as a satire?

Here are some quotes to help out:

"Now we've got a truth to die for!"
"No. Men should die for lies. But the truth is too precious to die for."

"The figures looked more or less human. And they were engaged in religion. You could tell by the knives (it's not murder if you do it for a god)."

"All holy piety in public, and all peeled grapes and self-indulgence in private."

"The trouble with being a god is that you've got no one to pray to."
