When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." (Matt. 16:13-14)

He who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it." (Rev. 3:12)

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did."" (Matt. 21:32)

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.” (1 John 3:14

IWomen received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection." (Heb. 11:32-35)

No one can answer the meaning of these verses?

2006-07-27 08:38:40 · update #1

green93lx you seem to not understand the question. Just because I didn't copy the entire scripture doesn't mean I am not aware of it. The remaining pieces are not what I am asking about.

Why would the disciples tell Jesus that people thought he was one of the dead prophets like Jeremiah. The question was not what did Jesus tell them.

I see you agree that the pillar of the temple is referring to the kingdom of god. Why would a person have to leave it after the had already went into it?

About the tax collectors, if when we die we sleep until judgement day then how can the tax collectors and prostitues get into heaven before someone else.

About passing from death to life, I'm glad to see that you interpert it that way even though the bible does not state your explanation either so how can you be so sure that that is what it really means, you really have no proof just your interpertation. It can easily be meant to be taken literally you just don't comprehend that.

For the last part about women receiving back their dead, Where is your answer stated in the bible with that verse? That again is just your interpertation and has no proof of value over mine. Again it can be taken literally. Why are the women receiving them back, because they are giving birth to them again.

busyliz, I know it was a phrophecy, why did the people think that dead prophets could come back.

About the pillars of the temple, the scripture says that he will never have to leave it AGAIN. Why did he have to leave it before if he was already in heaven? this is about leaving heaven and coming back to heaven.

Again if everyone sleeps until judgement day, how did the tax collectors and prostitues get into heaven before anyone else did?

See my previous responses for the rest.

To all Thanks for Trying, I appreciate your time.

Judaism accepts the truth of reincarnation.

Jesus was a Jew.

Jesus was an Essene rabbi.

Essenes wholly believed in and taught the truth of reincarnation.

The Jewish historian Josephus, a contemporary of the disciples, wrote about reincarnation as an accepted fact of Judaism, which of course it was and is.

The early Christian church was corrupt almost from its inception, as it sought to be a political state rather than simply a religion.

It set about to establish itself as the sole authority over the souls of men, from kings to peasants.

The historical facts are the early church changed the scriptures; it deleted books, intentionally mistranslated verses, modified, edited out or otherwise reinterpreted the passages which would threaten its authority as the sole mediator between 'God' and mankind. Reincarnation was considered a serious threat to that authority, so the church made it a heresy to believe in Jesus's teachings about being reborn and karmic laws (the Beatitudes).

There's no question reincarnation is truth, as a natural law of 'God', and that Jesus and the bible taught reincarnation... for those who have eyes to see.

I do not see what any of those need to do w/ reincarnation. The first passage is poetry, talking of the way in which the earth's tactics all paintings in combination in perpetual steadiness. Beautiful! Keep in brain that even though it had been talking approximately guy, you should not take it as doctrine due to the fact it wasn't written to instruct a strict lesson, it is poetry that explicates or expresses reality identified by means of the creator. The moment explains that frequently unhealthy matters occur to well humans and it is God's will at middle. (Implied therein, that God does what God does and also you simply need to suck it up b/c you can not understand God.) It is more commonly pointed out as a controversy towards the 'merchandising computer' view of God, where you are saying the correct phrases and God offers you what you desire. The 3rd passage elements to the wholly sinful nature of guy, with out attention of his acts. In different phrases, you'll be able to behave flawlessly, and on no account do a nasty factor for your lifestyles, and you are going to nonetheless want salvation due to the fact your very nature as a human is evil and sinful. Like I wrote above, I'm now not seeing any connection with prior lifestyles, prior life, or different reincarnation issues in any of those passages. Could you provide me a few extra element of your suggestion procedure on this?

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets." (Matt. 16:13-14)

If you'd keep on reading you'd find the answer.....
15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

He who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it." (Rev. 3:12)
Okay, how is this anything with reincarnation? But to explain it, use the WHOLE verse...
12Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Simply put, those that prevail in Christ will be part of the Kingdom He is building for us.

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did."" (Matt. 21:32)
Again, how in the world is this re-incarnation? This simply shows that he who believes and accepts the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior can be forgiven, be they prostitutes or whatever. The real verse from KJV says,....
32For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
He is telling them that John the Baptist had come telling them to repent and they did not, yet harlots and publicans did. Who was doing the Will of God???

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.” (1 John 3:14

You are forming a pattern here of not looking at the true scripture...
14We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
Simply put, when you become born again, it is a new life within you instead of a dead spirit within. You have confirmed your place in Heaven when you die...NOT to be born again on earth. Death is what those in Hell will torment in through eternity.

IWomen received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection." (Heb. 11:32-35)
These were special miracles performed by God for certain individuals, not everybody. As far as resurrections, there are two types. The resurrection to life (Heaven) and the resurrection to condemnation (Hell). People withstood the trials and tortures they went through without turning their back to God and were rewarded.

Anything else?

Matt 16:13-14
In the old testament there were prophecies of the Son of Man that was to come, no one knew who we was or when he would come. Some assumed that he was John the Baptist, Elijah or Jeremiah, but it was Jesus. They were waiting for the Christ to appear and they were guessing at who he was going to be. None of the prophets were reincarnated into Jesus.
Rev 3:12
He is talking about making his people who enter heaven victory pillars at God's throne. He is celebrating their victory and once they enter into heaven they will never have to leave. Once we enter into heaven we are there for eternity. God celebrates defeating death.
Matt21:32
We were shown the right way to live and if we refuse to believe and do what we are told we will not make into heaven. There is a parable before this verse that talks about two sons. The prostitutes and tax collectors had more faith than the pharisees did. Jesus is telling them that they refuse to live the right way that they were shown and the people worse off then them will make it into heaven before they will because they are willing to change their ways and walk the righteous way .
1 John 3:14
When we give our lives over to Christ, through him we defeat death. We are to love one another on earth and help each other out in times of need. Loving one another is a part of being a christian. When you are born again you alive in Christ, if you are not living your life according to Christ and you refuse to love one another and help those in their times of need you remain dead. You are not living your life in Christ.
Heb 11:32-35
Jesus defeated death so he can give and take life. So he had the capability of raising the dead. Some people were tortured and refused to be released, they were wanting to be beaten to death for the name of Jesus for their reward in heaven. No one was ressurrected or reincarnated. They wouild rather be beaten to death for the name of Jesus than to be accept their freedom to leave. They will be sent to heaven after death and they will receive a crown for giving their life for the name of Jesus.

I don't know if this helped you out or not, but you have a spirit and a flesh. The bible it talks about life and death. If you are dead then you are taking care of your flesh, which is living in sin and not listening to god. If you are alive in Christ, then you are listening to God and you are dead to the flesh, which means you are not sinning and you are obeying. It is hard to understand if you are reading it for face value. You have to know and understand God and his purpose for you and develop a relationship with him and he will tell you what he means in what he wrote in the book. It sounds corny to some, but it is true.

Better question would be to show where in the bible anyone says there is reincarnation? Paul said we live, we die and then we are judged. Never said we'd come back as another person.
