I don't want to lie but I don't want to hurt her feelings either. I definitely don't want to get in the middle of a lot of drama over it. If I believe a woman is fat, how do I answer them honestly without causing a problem? I've found that even if they say they won't get mad if I'm honest doesn't help. They often will get mad anyway. My current solution is to just avoid answering question like that. I also worry about stirring up some kind of eating disorder. I'm looking for some ideas, please help.

Picture it. We're at a restaurant with some friends. They are more my husband's friends than mine. We have finished the meal and have the checks in hand. The server has stopped serving us water or coffee. Gently and out-of-sight, I tap my husband's knee, as an indication it is time to go. He does nothing, so a few minutes later, I say "Are we ready to leave?" Later, not in front of our friends, he excuses me of being rude and trying to rush our lunch. I tell him that lunch was over and it is common courtesy to leave soon after you get the checks so the restaurant can fill the table with other patrons. What do you think?

I'm a single mom of three. My ex's grandma pass away lastnight. The ex hasn't paid any support for the last five months and none of my kids have anything black or dressy to wear. His side of the family would be upset if we didn't show or if we didn't dress up. Would it be bad if we show up in causal clothes? Plus, the ex wouldn't fork out any money either.

When it comes to religion, politics, etc. do you fight people with different opinions? Or do you just let them speak, then express your side afterwards?

One of my best friends stopped talking to me recently because she had a different opinion in religion and politics. She implied in our last talk that she couldn't tolerate it anynmore. Opinions?

I do kinda giggle to myself after they hang up on me and wish that I could be there to hear them to complain about having a nuclar plant put in theyre neighborhood after they have refused to take the survey to see how they feel. We do surveys for several companys to find out what you want, dont want ,like dont like ect. it is basically like casting your vote. Hang up if you want I really dont mind I make my money either way, just dont complain about your electric company,Wal-mart, Pizza Hut, your local news paper ect ect...

In two days I have an interview. From the looks of it, I'm still going to have this cold, which has obviously made me look sicker than a dog. Should, or shouldn't I give a handshake to the interviewer?

Where does the bow go on a wreath? I got into a bit of a squabble with an older woman in my office because I moved the bow on the wreath at the office. I think the bow should go at the bottom, which allows the green part to show. She got seriously angry with me and told me it went at the top. She wouldn't speak to me all day and I found out later that she MADE the wreath and that she was badmouthing me around the office. She was such a wreck, that I finally apologized for moving the bow. I told her I put it back where she wanted it and I apologized for hurting her feelings. Her response was a very snotty "Since you don't like it the way I created it, I'll just take it down." Sure enough, this morning it was gone. Not another word from her about it and she was all trying to be my best friend. Was I wrong in this? Any suggestions on how I could have handled it better? I was just stunned by her behavior.

I'm a single guy and I love ramen. I usually prepare a seafood flavored ramen with a can of either tuna or salmon, or with a small package of shrimp.
I usually have chopped tomato and onion , and diced cilantro on the fridge to add to my ramen.
I always keep soy sauce and pepprer handy to make my ramen yummier.

No one seems to have a problem with my ramen, but everyone tells me it's ridiculous that I always eat ramen with chop-sticks, and I always keep chop-sticks at home.

Is it so wrong that a non-Asian likes to eat with chop-sticks?

My friend is being extra territorial. I finished doing a part of my homework after I ate lunch, since she had the same homework, I just asked if I could see it. Then she screamed, "NO!" and hid it. I asked her why, but she just screamed at me again. What was her problem? I was already done, so I wasn't able to copy it anyways...not that I would. She does the same with her drum sticks too. I take a look at it, while it's still sitting on the table, and she snatches it away.

And usually when I'm eating, I put my hand in front of my mouth when I'm chewing. It's like instinct now, I don't want people to see the food in my mouth. When she sees me do that, she mocks me and starts speaking to people with her hand over her mouth. It's so annoying-I just glare at her.

...even though we'll be having a Secret Santa at our company party? I don't know if that will make a difference.

I work with three guys in one department and I saw some Christmas cards at the store that I'd like to get them.

Would they be weirded out or not? I did give them birthday cards for their birthdays three months ago.
