I'm a Filipino, I eat rice with a spoon. It's our custom just as the Chinese, Koreans, Japanese eat rice and even soup with chopsticks. Different culture, different customs.

Most of my freinds eat with their hands but that doesn't mean that they're undiciplined, infact they're the the best well mannered people I've known.You can eat with spoons,chopsticks and even forks.What matters is the table manners right.Ask your freind to chill and enjoy the meal.
