when you are upset with something; does that mean that you are "gruntled" when all is good?
"How are you doing?" "Gruntled thank you, yourself?"

I bought my Christmas cards alreday and wrote out some for the coworkers who work in my department, cz I know them and work with them. I still havent passed them out yet. The other day,I got a Christmas card from one of my coworkers in another department whom I dont even know or met!! Am I supposed to give out cards to our whole company or just the people I work with? If I give it to the people I just work with, does that make it look bad that I didnt give it to anyone else?

There is this female co-worker I don't see that often only when I go to the other side of the shop and only sometimes then not always ok but when she first started working there she was acting standoffish and would not look at me so I never botherd to say hello just did my work I was not rude to her at all I mean if you dont know someone and they dont seem to want to know you I think it is ok not to say hi. So one day me and my boss were standing around his name is the same as mine she comes walking by and says hi Jeff and my boss says to her what Jeff do you mean and she says when I say HI Jeff I always mean you meaning my boss and not me that made me feel bad I got over it but just stayed away from her and would not look at her thinking she did not want to be around me, but then one time we pass by each other as I was trying to avoid eye contact she would lean in and stare at me in a rude way. Why is she acting like this?? help me please.

This is just a curiousity question more than anything. I listen in amazement as women instruct men on how they need to be careful what they say because their feelings are so sensitive. That low self esteem causes them eating disorders etc. When I was in school, to the best of my memory, guys were always trying to get the girl's attention and she would have absolutely no mercy on his self esteem at all. If you want a movie example, look at what happened to Pedro (in Napoleon Dynamite) when he wrote a girl a note asking her to a dance and she replied with, NOO!! Not no thankyou, but NOO! I know this is just a movie but I've seen that a lot in real life too. How many men out there have experienced what I'm talking about? Please include details, like whether or not you asked her politely and not like a player etc. I'm only asking this question because I'm a bit confused with women feeling so mistreated because honestly it seemed the exact opposite for me in school.

country's national anthem is played? For example. if everyone around you is doing it, you don't want to show disrespect, but is it wrong to do so since you're allegiance is not to that country?

It's almost 4 am and my super is supposed to be coming in tomorrow to inspect my apartment (doing the whole building at any time from 9 am till 5pm).
The thing is, I dont want just 5 hours of sleep. Would it be rude if I leave a note on my door saying I was working late tonight, so i need to sleep in. And to please come back after 11 or 12?

but can you tell me what it means when someone says they were emancipated. Obviously freed, but of what? Is it like a coming of age or something? I live in Australia and we don't commonly use that word.
Thanks!

It is not socially acceptable to fart of scratch our butts in public. Why should it be different for smoking?

Smokers who complain about the bans are amusing. If someone came into a restaurant and sat at the table next to them stinking of feces, they would complain rather than defend that person’s right to stink — just as non-smokers complained about smokers. Health issues aside, smoking is often an offensive invasion of other people’s personal space and the case can be made for limiting it under the law for that alone — as we do with NOISE, for instance.

Help! I have a co-worker that's been complaining about how she hates her job. Whenever she's into this mode I don't talk to her at all and instead just ignore her until she cools off. She's been getting into trouble a lot with the boss because we have a new tardy and absent policy. She thinks they're out to fire her, but I don't think so. For one thing I learned that she takes advantage of peoples kindness, and even talks bad behind there back when it benefits her. She hassles people for money because she spends her pay on the stupidest stuff.

What really gets me is the fact that when she's pissed she has to let everyone at work know. She'd start using f bomb and start saying that they won't get her, yet she's acting like she is. I like my job. It may not be exciting, but it's not bad like how she acts. Am I wrong?

Now my question is...how do you deal with a co-worker like that? Am I stupid for not trying to console her because she feels hassled at work?

OK, for the past week I've noticed that my brother tries to secretly drink out of milk containers, soda, juice, everything...I even caught him...I also caught him sticking his finger in peanut butter, eating the peanut butter and doing it over again. HE'S 19 also!

The thing that bothers me is that he is sooo gross, not to be rude...he brushes his teeth maybe 3-4 times a week...I normally brush mine 14. And you don't even wanna know what else he says he does with his mouth...

Basically, what should I do? I don't wanna tell my parents because I'll feel bad after and I don't wanna confront him because I KNOW he will deny it and he'll probably hit me...yeah, he's that immature. So now I drink water all the time...that's what I had with my pop tarts for breakfast:-(...
And I don't wanna resort to buying my own because of him...it's unnecesary!
AND ALSO
what should I do w/ food I made for school for a small party...since milk was an ingrediant...throw it out?
Thanks for any help!

Hello

ABPP (Acsess by proxy paradoxus) is a situation in which person A is not allowed to ask person B for something that is thier or is a part of thier system.
Person A has to allow person B to offer instead.
The act of allowing that person B to offer is a paradoxical situation as person A has no way to initiate the option of person B allowing them to have something!

Examples included...

1) It is not siad to be polite to ask another person to give you a sweet.
2) It is not siad to be polite to ask for a cup of coffee from someone else. In Japan, you cannot even pour your tea yourself as it is considered rude.
3) You are not allowed to ask someone if you can have a meeting in thier domian as your inviting yourself in.

It is still siad that if you do not ask you do not get.

I'm just curious about what happens when you buy something online. For example a computer. When they deliver it, do they schedule a day and time, it'll be delivered to your door? Or do they just leave it in front of your door? Because, if they just leave a computer in front of your door, people will just take it while they walk by.
Thanks.

If you didn't show up to work and never called, what would you say the following day when going into work? The job is a shift job, the schedule was 5am to 1pm that day. No kids or wives to use as an excuse either.

generally answer all the questions with nice warm, fuzzy answers. Do you generally really believe that the questioners are really being 100% sincere and honest, and do you think everyone who "says" they were disrespected deserves to be pampered and answered sweetly.
Two examples: girl who referred to "old Gringo bags". One answerer said she was SURE the girl asking was a sweet and lovely person...but shouldn't use racial slurs. Another insists that 3 church girls in her college are able to persuade all the rest of the class to harrass her. People fall for this, really? I'm amazed that so many can be so gullible. Are you often just reinforcing unacceptable actions by these sweet little assurances that the Asker is always in the right, IF the Asker happens to be your same sex, religion or holds the same type of job that you have, or had? Anyone care to comment?
Attacking me for the question is not appreciated, but at least don't make it a warm and fuzzy attack, pretty please.

He barely shares anything about his workplace. It'd be good to know who he mingles with over there, who are his friends at work, who he hangs out with at lunch etc. What is a casual cool way to ask so he opens up, without feeling cornered? Thank you guys.

I am in the middle of the college process. Most of my actual applications are done and I would like to thank the teachers for their recommendations. However, I probably will need their help for scholarships as well. I don't want them to think I forgot about their help, but I don't want to thank them and then give them more work. What should I do?

We live beside 2 very butch older (50 -ish) lesbians. They are always coming knocking at the door complaining. Our dog that sleeps in the garage barked one night ...complaint. Our 2 car driveway only technically fits 1 1/2 cars so either mine or my husbands hangs off the side..they don't like the way it looks. We are putting up a privacy fence and every opportunity they get they come to complain about the workers, the noise, remeasuring property lines, you name it. We own our house and I am fed up with playing the nice girl. Now I am ready to piss them off every channce I get. Any suggestions? It can't be something to get me arrested or piss off my neighbors across the street. Just the ones next door.
