I do not agree with that statement.
I think they should pay attention to their employee's job satisfaction to a degree, but not "do everything they can to enhance the job satisfaction."
If they did everything they could to make their employees happy, the employees would be able to answer their personal cell phones whenever they chose, take a longer lunch, leave for a hair appointment, and basically do whatever they wanted to do because the manager was SOO concerned about keeping them happy.

I disagree. A manager's job is to see that the business runs smoothly and efficiently. It is also their job to enhance the satisfaction of the CUSTOMER. A good manager should stand by their employees as long as they are hard workers. Then, after everything is running smoothly, if possible, they can try to enhance the job satisfaction of their employees. It's not required, but it is nice if they can do it.

No. Managers are there to run a business efficiently. It's up to employees to get satisfaction from their jobs. Yes, a manager can make it hell on an employee by being a bad manager, but ultimately it's up to the employee to deal with it or move on.
Now, a good manager would take the employee satisfaction into consideration knowing that happy employees will result in better work results, but it's not a requirement.

Disagree. Their employees should have a good amount of job satisfaction, but managers should do everything they can to enhance the general satisfaction of their CUSTOMERS.

I agree that managers should do everything they can to enhance the job satisfaction of their employees. " People who feel good about themselves, produce good results." So if he wants his business to do well, this is the answer.

Disagree. I think the employee is responsible for their own job satisfaction. The manager has to make sure he is satisfied with employee perfomance, not their glee about going to work. He has a job to do and that doesn't necessarily mean being a friend.

I agree. People should expect a pleasant work place. You spend about 8 hours a day or more there, and a good manager would want the employees to be happy. Happy employees are productive employees and do appreciate the efforts made on their behalf.

Nah. Although they should pay proper attention to this, their real job is to make sure everything is running properly so the employees have a job to come to tomorrow/next week

I do agree. High turnover rates cost companies a lot of money. Employees should feel important to the manager, boss and company just like a customer should.
