What would be a good approach to ask her out? slip my email when getting the toll ticket or is this harrassment. Thanks for the help.
I want to go for it but dont want to be rejected. Thanks

A friend recently lost a sister and he and his extended family members have been inundated with home cooked meals and baked goods from many people. So much food, that they had to give much of it away. Was there a tradition somewhere that started the idea of bringing food to people in mourning? And is it intended to simply provide for them so they don't have to cook for themselves?

Why do so many people on here, and elsewhere, type as though they are texting? They are two vastly differnt things. When texting your best friend, you can use any form of crappy spelling you want, but when you are typing a message to be read by intelligent people, please use intelligent spelling.

Compare riding a bicycle to riding a horse. They are both excellent forms of exercise and transportation, but are completely different things. You don't peddle a horse and you don't talk to a bicycle.

So when you are doing different things, do them differently. Don't destroy one for the benefit of the other.

This is a serious problem with todays society.

For those of you who think I have far too much time on my hands, and I expect there are a lot of you, go to hell.

I need some advice on Political Correctness and Etiqutte.

Should I apologize for calling Heidi a "ho" before or after singing "Minnie the Moocher?"

If you were dating a werewolf, would you avoid her during "that time of the month?" And is it appropriate to address her Wolf form as "*****?"

Back in the day, when I attended Pro-ERA rallies, was it wrong of me to say, "My wife makes me do it?"

I'm supposed to pay at the front desk, so I can't give the person who cut my hair a $20 bill and tell them to "keep the change." Each barber has a cup sitting on their counter with a bunch of bills stuffed into it. Do I put my tip in this cup? Or lay it on the barber's counter? Or give it directly to the barber? Or perhaps give it to the person at the front desk when I pay?

Things like shopping alone, eating alone, etc. I'm 16 and male and I've noticed that when you're alone and walk into shops browsing some people give you strange looks because of the fact you're alone; this becomes much more pronounced when you're in food places. Even in places like Subway, if you walk in alone and sit down alone, people stare at you like "wtf?". Eating alone seems to be totally unacceptable for some reason. People don't seem to get it.

I used to be really paranoid about what people thought of me for being alone, but I don't give a toss anymore. I don't need to be with a huge group of people to feel complete.

I've invited 11 people and guest asking for RSVP to a cool bar in NYC and I'm unsure if a party gift would be appropriate or just weird. The party is for no other reason then to invite a bunch of newer friends to have a social and check out a new place.

Are you supposed to be friendly and talkative or polite and formal? I've only had one boss and she was super friendly and open, but I know the other ones at my work were more difficult to read. Like they don't want to seem satisfied because they don't want you to become complacent?

I know they're not there to "be your friend" but are you always supposed to fear them or avoid getting into deep conversations unless they ask or even if they ask?

I don't want my next managers to think that I'm unfriendly but also I don't want to annoy them with trivial things.

A casual friend of my husbands & a new acquaintance of mine said this to us recently after her love life came up in conversation " You (my husband) are my marriage match and you (me) are my soulmate match"...she is really into Astrology & Horoscopes.....

My husband met this girl thru friends before I did & I do know that she did have a crush on him a while back-(before we were married, but while we were dating- I was out of state for a few months) but,why on earth would a girl say this? I hardly know her,and my husband has never, ever had interest in her & I am not worried a bit that he has feelings for her,so ,no worries there.

Why would a girl say this, and in front of a guys wife? I know I never would-no matter how comfortable I felt. I doubt she knows that I am aware of her past crush on my hubby, but even so,how odd!

We both just looked at her like "No, you did not just say that!"- What would have been an appropriate response?

And also, most importantly, why do you all think someo

i have a histry of eating disorders but i've been over that for months now. i eat healthily and i eat regularly, but i still find it a bit hard to eat as much as i normally should, but i do eat.
today, i had lots of pineapple with me - it tastes so refreshing. i also ate some melon.
she looked at me, and said, "Is that all? Where's your carbohydrate?"
She brings in cookies and puts it on my desk in front of me.
I eat alone in her classroom so it is a bit hard..
She also shut/locked the door so i cudnt get out, then she told me to eat it, and that i wont leave "unless i eat it."
She does this everytime now. I understand she might be concerned cos i had a history of anorexica but force-feeding me cookies?!
I ended up throwing it all up in the end.. thats the pineapple and melon down the drain.??

In other public spaces too. Truthfully, here in NY most people pretty much mind their own business, but every now and then I (we) come across peo. who think it is their right or written in their job description to openly put other peo. down. Usu. I can bless them, ignore them or detach by minding my own business, and the rude behavior stops or they go away. But last night I got fed up and openly looked up from my book and just returned the gaze. Meaning I watched this couple who just wouldn't cut it out. I watched them as they were gossiping ab. me, without hostility, more like an extraterrestrial observing human life forms, or a teacher stopping class to watch a student who is talking or text-messaging dur. class. Thinking the whole time: "Do you mind...?" They cut it out. They both looked ashamed. But now, strangely, I am wondering if there is a better way to handle these type of situations? I hate this. Any ideas?

First some history. I went to talk to this prof, say prof x, about aNOTHER prof I had some trouble with. Prof X is the head of the department. He basically denied my case but I was persistant. He recommended that I stop, but I kept going, went to his superior who agreed with me (eventually) so I 'won' the issue.
Now, this prof X is teaching a class I"m in. Today in class, I raised my hand to ask a Q. He looked right at me for several seconds, and then kept going. So before he changed slides I said "I have a question..." and i asked. His answer to me, in this class of over 200 people was, "well, you could see it that way, but it depends on how anal you want to be."
Was he calling me anal? Does he dislike me?

My birthday was a couple weeks ago and a couple days ago, I received a package from San Francisco Music Company with a music box inside. I didn't order anything, never have from them. I have a feeling a friend of mine might have ordered it online and had it shipped to me for my birthday because she has sent me something from them before (that had no name on it either). My question is, how do I go about finding out who sent it? I feel it's presumptuous to ask this friend if she sent me something (what if she didn't? then, she could feel bad for not getting me anything, etc.) and I wouln't want to put her on the spot like that. However, I want to thank the person who sent it, too.

There is a lady in my local area who was asked to leave a store at the mall recently b/c she was breast feeding her year-old son. From her own version of the story, she did not have a blanket covering her and she sat down on a bench in the back of the store and proceeded to feed. An employee asked her (rudely) to leave and called mall security. They filled out an incident report.
Now, this lady believes that her civil rights have been violated. All she was doing was "taking care of her child". She has a lawyer and wants to get a law passed that requires store employees to know and understand guidelines that allow mothers to breast feed in public.
Keep in mind that our mall has a designated family area with plush chairs, a microwave, a play area and other ammenities for families to relax and take care of such business, so it's not like she didn't have anywhere else to go.
What do you guys think about this situation or public breast feeding in general??

It was in Holland, middle of nowhere, the only place to stay miles around, a hostel. It was super hot that day, all we wanted was a cool shower. There was just one big room with 2 dozen bunk beds, mixed gender. But it was the only choice. So we grabbed our stuff headed for the showers. We asked there they were and he pointed at a door. We walked in to a suprise. Just a wall of shower heads a foot apart from each other.

There were naked guys and girls showering or drying off. As americans we were not used to this. We ended up just hurring up and showering. With only 3 spouts there was a line. I ended up standing 1 foot from a naked man. I have a thick ghetto butt and we both turned and his obviously large penis hit my butt. He quickly applogized in a very thick accident and left.
I am very curious how other women would have reacted to this situation?
Both the shower situation and the accidental contact?

My grandmother used to say ,"take off your duds" when she wanted you to take off your coat & hat. She'd tell about going to the "funeral parlor" when she meant the "funeral home." She referred to her scarf as her "babooshka." When she cleared the table after a meal. she said she was going to "rid" up the table. It's funny how certain things stick with us as we grow older

I mean it's nice if you're pretty and want people to know it, but shouldn't you leave something to the imagination? If it's for the attention you get from men, thats just silly, I get plenty of attention without having to be half naked anywhere. What happened to pictures of girls with their shirts ON?
