Why do so many people on here, and elsewhere, type as though they are texting? They are two vastly differnt things. When texting your best friend, you can use any form of crappy spelling you want, but when you are typing a message to be read by intelligent people, please use intelligent spelling.

Compare riding a bicycle to riding a horse. They are both excellent forms of exercise and transportation, but are completely different things. You don't peddle a horse and you don't talk to a bicycle.

So when you are doing different things, do them differently. Don't destroy one for the benefit of the other.

This is a serious problem with todays society.

For those of you who think I have far too much time on my hands, and I expect there are a lot of you, go to hell.

Now that is a "DIFFERNT"...in fact 'vastly differnt' question from the kind which we usually encounter on Yahoo Answers.

Perhaps the proper usage of the English language and typing skills are indicative of the intelligence of the individual and you may wish to place more weight in their answers. Of course you might want to consider that people don't have all the time in the world and just want the blast out their message/answer as quickly as possible.

I'm going with: People want to answer quickly.

No I don't .... and I agree with you .... but the thing is that we have become so used to idiotic spellings that no one cares any longer what the spelling is .... but may be all of us should read this --->
I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer inwaht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. I partially agree with you because English is a great language and we sort of butcher it with the kind of typing we do online.

Once that's out of the way, let me tell you that 200 years ago, the language we use now could have been considered a butchered version of the English language. This is the way languages evolve. Languages are living things, and if they don't evolve they die.

i used to until I got trained by my very own Typemaster Tutor. A great piece of software for an affordable price. Google it for the latest version.

But no worries, as long as everybody can type and answer questions.

To put it simply, no one cares to do thing correctly anymore. This adds a whole new meaning to the old saying, "this is close enough for government work".

No, I don't.

I think I agree with you - it makes it much more difficult to read when people don't write properly here and in emails etc.
