I think it's very rude when a hostess takes you to your table, but then you have to stand and wait on her to get everything situated. Don't you agree she should seat your party first?

How to deal with unprofessionalism?
i work in a very very professional environment (ie hospital), and a few of us students are doing an internship their and one of the students is makes very unprofessional comments about me infront of other professionals. I have approached her and told her about it but she does not take too many things seri0ously and continues to make these comments. I don't mind the comments (i mostly ignore her) but when she makes it infront of other professionals (ie mds) it is very uncomfortable, How can I get her to stop. She is the type of girl who craves attention and likes to be center of attention, and who makes herself feel better by putting down others (ie me and some other students).

I just started a new job and was interoduced to my co-workers and everyone was nice except one guy. When the manager introduced us he kept looking away and said nothing to me, then imediately went about asking the manager a question he had. The manager apologized to me right there, it was a very awkward moment. Why did the guy act that way? Was it something I did?

Would telling them, "We're Pregnant!" be a good way to break the ice?

I mean, they act like I didn't know that. "Oh really? I thought I was a ****** giant. My bad."

You wouldn't go up to a midget/little person and say that. Why? Because its rude, disrespectful, and discriminatory. But apparently, its ok to rag on people who are just "vertically challenged".

Everyday I have to deal with someone talking about my height. I know what all of you will say. "Don't worry about other people, just be yourself."

Well I do, everyday. But what other people think of you IS important as well as first impressions. I honestly believe I would have a girlfriend by now if it wasn't for my height.

I bought a pair of sunglasses a while ago that I really liked. I went back to the store a while later and bought the last two pairs they had to have extras.

I was talking with my grandmother the other day and she complimented my sunglasses and mentioned that she needed new ones, so since I had two extra pairs I gave one to her.

Anyway I was looking at my other pair and I noticed a small chip on the bottom corner of the lens, its hard to notice if you're not looking for it. How bad would it be if I switched them?

in my last question people answered without really reading what I was saying.

I don't have any problems with strangers calling me sir, but when someone KNOWS your NAME and they've known who you are for several years, I promise you that when they call me sir it feels disrespectful, impersonal, and I don't like it.

When a stranger addresses me as sir, I have no problem with it.

don't yall understand what I"m saying?

I just had a 2nd interview for a position I am interested in. Although, it really wasnt an interview at all since it was over lunch. It was myself, and another candidate, along with 3 HR managers. I wanted to send them a thank you note. Basically, I want to thank them for lunch, reiterate my interest in the position. Can someone help with samples??

She yelled @ me because I didn't understand why my light bill was so high. & so I started crying because she was blaming me. & she said, "Why are you crying? Because you don't wanna pay your bill? Or do you owe somebody else money that you're not telling me about?" & she DEMANDED an answer. & then she told me I need to get a perm (relaxer) for my hair. I'm almost 24 & have a college degree. But this was my 1st apartment since Hurricane Katrina & I had a different type of thermostat from what I have now. I took my brother's advice about setting the T on 70 & turn it on & off & my CM called me irresponsible & told me I was supposed to have it on Automatic & 78. & now she wants to monitor every penny I spend & she wants to see how I budget my money.

I feel like a kid with no freedom. That means I can't even treat myself to something good if I wanted to because she'll use that against me & try to get someone to become my payee over my disablilty checks over 1 luxury I spent my $$ on.

This might sound silly to you all...but it can be confusing to me. Is it politeness to join the conversation, or is it politeness to let them have their own conversation and not participate.

What if their conversation involves something strong like "my house was flooded". Am I expected to say something, or just let them be.

What would you do?

Yesterday we had a massive row. While I was having a shower, my wife entered the bathroom to cut her toe nails on the toilet. She then asked me if I would take her shopping and I foolishly said that I rather stick my head in a food blender than go in the shops with you.

Unexpectedly, she ran towards me screaming and kicked me so hard in my privates. I was floored in agony.

Where's the best place to shop for bathroom locks????

My first interview was a phone interview and I was invited back for a second phone interview at the end of the call. At the second interview, I was told I should come down and visit the City (I live out of town) and meet people I would be working with. The HR recruiter was on the second interview call and told me she would call me back right away or "first thing" the following morning.

Today is the second day, morning has passed, and I have not heard back from her. How long should I wait to contact her? Is it impolite for her not respond when promised? Am I being too anxious because of what I was told? What could the hold up be?

I know she is busy, but some sort of response, such as I am waiting on xyz and will call you back in a week, would have been helpful.

PS. I hate interviewing and job searching. I am currently employed, but my wife and I are relocating shortly and that is why I am interviewing. Otherwise, I would work at my current job forever.

They are constantly knocking on the door for stuff: sugar, eggs, butter, beer. We have told them no a couple of times but they dont seem to get the hint. We dont want to be rude either since we have to live next to them.

Would you want to be told right then and there or would you rather stumble across the object while looking in the mirror later (no telling how long that spinach has been stuck on the tooth, for example)?

I have a family cookout coming up in the near future. I would like to bring a companion, but I know there won't be many vegetarian options. Should I call ahead so that provisions can be made, bring a dish, or just face the family by myself?
