I just had a 2nd interview for a position I am interested in. Although, it really wasnt an interview at all since it was over lunch. It was myself, and another candidate, along with 3 HR managers. I wanted to send them a thank you note. Basically, I want to thank them for lunch, reiterate my interest in the position. Can someone help with samples??

it doesnt have to be anything special. Just keep it short and simple.

Dear (Hiring person),
I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to meet with me, and for treating me to lunch. I am excited about the opportunities your company has to offer. I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
(Your name here).

Keira:

Did you say there was ANOTHER candidate there?????

Then guess what? They were doing a side-by-side comparison to see how you two reacted TO each other and WITH each other. You -and she (if she was a she) were lab rats.

So, whatever you send...keep that reality in mind. I'm going to give you the STRUCTURE of your note -YOU pick the words that sound like you.

1. Thanks, enjoyed the meal and the time and it was a pleasure meeting (other candidate).

2. As respects each HR manager individually, think of the most important thing each asked or said, quote it (as nearly as you can) and offer a response or comment.

3. Based on the discussion, you are more convinced than ever that THEY are the people you want to work for.

4. Thanks again.

Address the note (on the envelope) to all of them. Make it on note paper, and write it by hand.

Good luck -but I don't like their approach.

Wedding thank-you notes/gifts? I've been married for almost two years now and I know that wedding thank-you gifts are very past due, but hear me out: My wedding happened quickly after my engagement (due to my husband's military orders) and the wedding planning was pretty hectic! My family didn't know a lot about how weddings worked (my parents got eloped) and so they needed lots of help before the ceremony and reception. I thought the wedding was perfect and didn't find out until later that many friends and family members busted their behinds to make sure things ran smoothly! My mom didn't want me to feel bad or to stress about it so she didn't tell me most of what happened behind the scenes. Slowly I pried it out of her and now (two years later), I feel like I should send special thank-you notes and/or gifts to some of the friends and family who helped the most. My 2-year anniversary is coming up so I feel like it would be the perfect time to send them. What do you think? Should I bother to send anything? Would it be worse than if I never sent anything at all? If notes and/or gifts are appropriate, what should I say and what kind of gifts do I give them? Most of these people are friends of my parents, and some are relatives. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'd use a hand-written card, not a flowery one.
"Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule(s),
to meet with me/us over the lunch hour (yesterday).
The lunch itself was delicious/refreshing, by the way.
I would be very interested in persuing the possibility
of the position we had previously discussed.
Sincerely yours:_____________________"
