Rules, boundaries , and limitations.
You need to set these for your kids, pets, friends, family, loved-ones, and co-workers; otherwise they'll all run over you. If you can't think of anything quickly, say "What did you say to me?"
If they don't have the guts to repeat it, say "That's what I thought."
If they do repeat it - game on!!

I would congradulate her on her opinion and then ask her to keep it to herself next time. Just because she started off wrong don't let her bring you down also. Someone who could complain about something so minor has probably got something bigger bothering her. Just keep smiling ok and say Good Morning or Good Day to anyone you come into contact with. I bet you are not the only one she has been rude to today. Sorry

I wouldn't feel very good if someone made a comment like that. My opinion is that your co-worker was very rude and needs to work on his/her people skills.
If it were me, I'd probably say something like, "The typing needs to be done; are you willing to take over?" or "Yes, it's Morse Code...I have to vent in some fashion, don't I?"

I think your co worker is an a--hole and should be treated as such . I am sorry that your co workers think so little of each other . and if she or he said something like that to me I would have said I only type morse code for you ,and walked away . good luck .

in a mocking voice i would have repeated what he/she said then made my patented trademark blah while stick out my tongue. but if this is the first time they have ever said anything like that to you i would let it slide. we all have our bad days where everything seems to either annoy or piss us off. my favorite is when i walk into work and before i can even get to my desk this older lady starts asking me questions on how to fix her computer or do her job. and that's everyday. and they wonder why people go crazy at work

Ever saw that movie "Office Space?" You should say "Sounds like someones got a case of the mondays" in a very patronizing tone, just like the weirdo happy office woman in the movie did. Ahh, that cracks me up. That movie, I mean not your problem.

Yeah, she sounds like a real "people" person! (NOT!) Well, I would just let it roll. But, still be the friendly person you are no matter what. Still say, "good morning" to her regardless. This way you are not "being" like her. And believe me, you will always be "above" it on many levels!

Sounds like they're having a lousy day and taking it out on you and probably others. I'd imagine you type at work everyday, so it's not your fault that it's annoying today.

Just say "Of course... didn't they teach you Morse code in school?" or something to that effect.
Wise crack remarks warrant wise crack responses!
