the restaurant customers are 75% african american....I've been there for 3 years....I've always tried to remain non prejudice, but last night changed my outlook for good....during my employment, I've witnessed children being told to shut up, slapped (in the face or wherever) eat their food or else...one woman pointed a knife at her child and told him to "shut the f up" ....I've seen them dragged into the bathroom while they're screaming...parents arguing with they're children on cell phones loud enough for others to hear...and last night, all the little girl wanted was to sit by her mommy...daddy said no, she cried and he said "you're coming with me"...so outside they went...I said something to him as they were going outside and he said mind your damn business...I've also found dirty diapers, tampons, and a g string under the tables....servers complain about 100.00 tabs and getting 2.00 tips or no tip at all...so, if you're african american, please explain what I
should think.....

I moved to a new city when I was 5 months pregnant and bought nothing for the baby before the move. After I got here I briefly met a friend of my sister's and her partner (she was already living here - my sister that is). This woman has 3 children and is done. She gave me a LOT of baby stuff, not the least of which was a graco travel system. Then I was put on bed rest and my baby came early,

I'm just getting out and around doing things. I can't find a thank you card I like so I made one. All the ones I found were for something or christian or to a friend or family member. So I bought card stock and thin matting and a nice pen, I beautifully wrote on the card myself in caligraphy and put 3 matted pictures of my son on the front of the card. A big one and two small ones of him using things she gave me.

Now my sister refuses to deliver it for me because she says its to tacky and she's embarrassed.

What do you think? Tacky or acceptable?

I was very excited about this pool-party today. We are going to play volleyball, get in the pool. I really wanted to go.

I'm in good shape, I was totally 0K with being shirtless at the pool, and wear my trunks.
Yesterday I heard some meowing on the big backyard we have. I realized the meowing came from the shed we have way out back.
A cat had her kittens there. I thought that was cute, so I went in the shed. Next thing I know, I'm getting my legs eaten up.
I go out, and notice my legs are full of fleas, so I wash them off with a hose, and take off my clothes.

Todays is the party, I really want to go, but all those flea bites are really noticeable on my whitey legs.

What should I do?

We have only one bathroom, and we have 2 mirrors in our bedroom, yet he insists on using the bathroom mirror, which is right in front of the sink, and it isn't big enough for two people. What makes it even worse, is he goes in there 15-20 times a day, (sometimes more!) and closes and locks the door! I know I can't necessarily make him stop, but what are some good pranks or tricks I can pull on him? He is the worst roommate ever!

My T.A.'s an asshole. I am a student of the institution. I paid the institution to learn something. I didn't pay to get yelled at and be the recieving end of the guy's obnoxiousness. Even his coworkers thinks he's an ***. How do I deal with the guy?

When i was 13 i was dating an older boy 16 who was very nice at first, one day he turned on me took me by surprise out of nowhere, he beat me up very bad, punched me in the stomach about 30 times, was mentally cruel. At the time I didnt understand what was happening, i didnt tell anyone because i was embarrased and confused. I even went out with again and he was nice and then beat me and verbally abused me again. I met a guy at a new HS when i was 15 and have not spoken to this ex ever again.
I'm 23 now, and commute to college. Ever since I was 15 I take a different path from my home to get to the bus/subway or for anything. its 3 minutes longer. He works in donut shop where my short path is. I havent walked there since I was 15. I think hes crazy and i dont want confrontations with him. Have not spoke to him since 15 and seen him only twice since and i gave him no eye contact at all.. Am I doing the right thing or do you think it gives him control over me that I walk a different path

My husband and I have been married for 2 yrs. I want children, he does not (he has 2 from a previous marriage). People are alway asking me when I am going to have kids. This is a touchy subject and is really nobody else's business. How do I answer this in a nice way, but in a way to make them quit asking?

Well, Iobviously, it's pretty rude. But I intended it to be rude. I thought he deserved it. His car also had Confederate flags painted on his car, and he was wearing them on his tshirt and hat. I mean, what was this guy trying to prove? I know I know....they say that the flag isn't always associated with racism, and that it can just be a symbol of "traditional values" or "outlaw culture". But that's obviously just a cover for modern-day racism, billed as an almost patriotically fervent un-political correctness, to the point that it almost becomes fetishistic. So anyway, this guy made my blood boil. I wanted to confront him face to face but he we were in the post office and I didn't want to make a scene. So, instead, on the way out I spat on the flag on his car. I know this was rude. But do you think it was justified? Would you have done the same thing yourself? Or would you sympathize with my action even if you wouldn't go that far yourself? Or..........was I way, way out of line???

A qipao, BTW, is the name for the "Chinese dress" or sometimes, as it's sometimes called, the "Shanghai dress"- form-fitting brocade dresses that usually (almost always) have a mandarin collar. They're beautiful, IMO.

I was wondering what the qipao's Western formal equivalent is, and what events/social gatherings in the US it's acceptable to wear a qipao to.

I don't want to buy a dress that I won't use again, and I don't really have an LBD in my closet. JCrew has one for $99, silk, boat neck, sleeveless, A-line, to the knee. I was thinking with some pink or yellow open toed slingbacks? Is it really neccessary to adhere to ridgid rules if I brighten it up?

I am a member of a local homeschool group. Most of us have each other's email and I send out a monthly newsletter for the group. That is pretty much the only time I send emails to anyone unless I have a question or other business with the group. The problem is that a few of the other group members send forwards to our group. Some members of the group are also members of other groups and the result is that I will sometimes get 3 or 4 copies of the same email forward from different people, all in the group. I would really like to ask the group to NOT send email forwards to the homeschool group, but I don't want to upset anyone. I usually just delete them, but when I get multiple copies it get annoying. Should I suck it up and keep deleting or say something at our next meeting?

My girls are 1 year and 3 weeks apart. Every year we throw one large family/friends party at our house on a day that falls between our girls birthdays. On each girl’s actual birthday, we do a small-scale day catered to them, with immediate family.

This year my daughter wants to go to Chuck E Cheese. How do we invite grandparents and her closest cousins/parents to come hang out and have fun, but make it clear that if they come, they will need to pay for their own food/drinks/game tokens?? I'm not being cheep, I just can't afford to throw 1 HUGE dinner party (usually around 60 people come) and two small parties every year (grandparents and sister/brother-in-law+their kids come)

I learned the hard way last year, I was stuck with the bill at Chuck E. Cheese for $200.00 plus the large party costs on top of it. I'm not made of money!

How is the most polite way to tell immediate family they are welcome to come join, but pay their own way??

Thanks in advance! :)

or it is best to just try to forget about them? Stalking, while maybe not ideal, at least would get old after a while AND THEN I could more easily lose interest.

What do you think?

90% of the motorists out there NEVER check their engine oil level! Why why why? An engine rebuild costs thousands of dollars/pounds/euros/pesos/yen! How could anyone not take the extra 3 minutes to check the oil level each week? Especially since most people who own cars spend most of their money on their car aside from their home. WHY NOT TAKE CARE OF IT?
