The USSR was a massive empire with half the earths land mass under it's controll, china and the mongols did rule europe and asia another massive empire with most of the earths population speaking chinese, and these countries also have produced great inventers, philosophers etc. by america i take it you mean the USA? the usa is a new country that is made up of citizans from all of the countries you mentioned and some and has no official language. most of the countries don't speak english, infact most countries on earth speak spanish and most people on earth speak chinese, so i dont understand the question
