I was changing the water cooler at work and my co-worker offered to help me. I said, "I'm fine but thank you." He got mad and said "well fine then" in a not so nice voice. I'm perfectly capable of lifting and changing the water so I didn't need help. Did I do something wrong?

Wherever you go now, there is a tip jar. You go to get a coffee, an ice cream, get you hair or nails done, get a car wash, and much more you will find a tip jar! I don't know I think that with prices these days there is no need for tips.. Giving a tip to a waiter is different, I don't care about that but Like in Starbucks, I'm paying almost 4$ for my drink and yet I still put a tip because there is a tip jar..... Isn't the making of the drink included in the price and many people make drinks at starbucks so I don't know what they get out of the tip.

Do the tips even help the employees? ( not including waiters) I don't know thats just my opinion.. I just think that giving out a tip is going too far.

I know this person who is for a lack of better words to describe her very "difficult" to be around. I have known her for 10 years or so and she has continually been one of those "friends" that you never really want to do anything with, but feel guilty if you don't atleast do something with her now and then. She puts up the biggest fuss over the smallest things everytime we go out. Its very embarrassing to even be seen in public with her because of her annoying tendencies. I don't feel right telling her no all the time (or even lying to get out having to do stuff with her) but when I do go out with her I feel like I have really wasted my time and energy "trying" to have fun only to be miserable half the time. I have tried confronting her with the issues that bother me and that just starts an arguement and I don't want to have to deal with the drama. Does anyone know an easy way to avoid hurting her feelings, yet gives me an excuse not to be around her? BTW we are both single women.

We are somewhat new to this neighborhood. This will be our second year here. Last year for my son's birthday party we invited a few of the kids that he had met for a backyard party and water balloon fight. We welcomed older and younger siblings since it wouldn't cost any extra. This year for his fifth birthday we're having it at the go-cart track. We have 40 tickets already purchased. I don't know if it will cause any problems if we only invite the friends and not the siblings this year. I'm afraid they may show up with the siblings anyway (yes they can be that tacky) and I don't want to provide ride tickets for them because it takes away from the invited kids. I also don't want to cause any hard feelings. Is there a tactful way to possibly let parents know that we will only be providing tickets to the invited guests maybe by listing the price of the rides?

Since so many people just abuse it, and just go down the list and thumb down everyone. I often give thumbs ups, but rarely ever thumbs down unless its really offensive or mean.
I guess its usualy kids abusing it, tho I guess it could be just weirdo's.'

I have a very nosey neighbor neighbor. She asks me personal questions, like if I'm dating, do I even go to the health club I joined and tells others about who she sees coming and leaving my house. I feel as if I am under servalience. I like to walk with my dogs, but I feel as if all eyes are on me......what you think? Plus, do you think I should drive to a park and walk my dogs?

I've never met her, and I don't know what she likes, since I am surprising my son and her too, I don't have anyone to ask except Yahoo experts like you. I am also going to meet my new granddaughter. My boyfriend gave me a fabulously expensive bracelet for my 16th. The clasp was slightly dodgy and I told one of my friend this, but then I thought I had fixed it so I was wearing it out with him to cinema when it fell off! Can't find it anywhere...have given up hope...SOOO guilty! Only person who knows is my friend who agreed that it was a terrible pity that the clasp was faulty. I have been out with him since and he did ask where the bracelet was and I was like emmm I decided to wear this necklace instead and it didn't go with it. This happened a month ago. What should I do?? Should I tell him?? Or just fob him off next time he asks?? And if I do should I tell him how it happened. Cos it actually wasn't my fault I wasn't careless with it or anything. So guilty, please help!!

do you think that most people answer these questions in a truthful way? To the best of their abilities, without prejudice? And how about the questions themselves? The same can be said about some of the questions, don't you think?

People emotional express through eye. Thus, more or less you can judge someone thought through his/her eye expression. How good a pretender might his eye betray him and fail to lie.
In scenario if a friend try to avoid eye contact with you on the street, what is the reason and meaning? Is that mean he or she reject to show his or her friendliness to you ?

If you try to be polite and friendly, why do people feel that they have to give thumbs down? (who died and made them God?)
Puts you off bothering to answer anything, it's ungreatful!
What do you think, does it ever really annoy you too?

At work, a woman I thought was a friend begged me to go to the movies with her, and a male employee, who asked her to go and she agreed. This Wednesday evening. Really, she doesn't want to go at all, and wants me to go to be a buffer. We are all over 45.

I said no, she kept nagging, so to be polite I said I would think about it. By the way she is married, I am too, and he is not. I have no intentions of going, as I don't even like this guy. It would be a friends-only thing, but even then I don't want to spend an evening this way.
Other employees think she has some nerve and I am sensible not to go. I think if I agreed, she would back out and leave me stuck. Any way it happened, someone would wind up hurt or embarrassed, as I am now, and I didn't even do anything to bring this on.

I feel like she sees me as some dumb sucker she can rope into this. Why would someone do this?

Is there anything else I can or should do or say, besides be firmer about my intent NOT to go?

I used to get along well with this female coworker. I have a huge crush on her but now she has a boyfriend. Everytime we see each other I try to avoid her but she comes to me and is very friendly to me. I try my best to ignore her and send a message that I don't want to talk to her. She either doesn't get the hint or doesn't care and continues to try to talk to me and ask me to go out with her and others from work for drinks. She has a boyfriend so I try to stay away from her, plus she used to be very flirty with me and has suggested that the two of us hook up after a night of drinking. I don't know if she still likes me like that but I don't want to come between her and her boyfriend. But I also want her bad. What do I do?

A man who works nights has filed a complaint against his neighbor because of noise disturbing his sleep during the day. Noise like the lady of the house using a vacuum cleaner or busy in the kitchen or a man mowing his lawn. These are ordinary routine day to day noises. Why should a person choosing to work nights expect his neighbor to spend the day being as quiet as a mouse simply because he sleeps during the day? It seems unfair that the neighbor has to go to court to answer this selfish ridiculous complaint - or face eviction for "anti-social" behavior if he ignores the complaint
