If you tell him the truth, and the relationship develops, he will appreciate you for your honesty.
If you continue to lie, and he finds out, which he is bound to, and one day he suspects you about something, he will never believe you when you tell the truth.
Tell him you were so upset about it that you did not tell him before because you thought there might be a chance it would turn up. Don`t turn on the tears like one person suggested, we men are quite aware of what you ladies get up to to get your own way.
Good luck.
ps. would you like to purchase a `fabulously expensive bracelet with a slightly dodgy clasp?` I found one in a cinema the other day!! lol

Don't get worked up over it. Tell him the truth that it fell off your wrist without your knowledge. Maybe a stretch braclet would be better. I say this cause my wife lost a braclet years ago it had this silly clasp that was just a bar and circle and when she knocked it , it was gone... I think she had it a weekend or two and it was history....
Now I get these stretch bracelets and they last forever.

Oh, you need to tell him ASAP. I lost a new, very expensiive watch my partner had bought for me three weeks after he got it. The wrist strap was made of gold links and was way too big; however, stupidly, I said I would wear it high on my arm, rather than my wrist.
I went clothes shopping in town, bought loads of stuff and had bags hanging from both wrists; they caught in the watch, and at some stage, the weight of the bags caused the clasp to open.
I missed it almost immediately, but I could not bring myself to tell hm for a week. He was really upset, as he'd chosen it specially...and of course I hadn't insured it.
Just tell him; let him know you are really upset about it, that you know he'd spent a lot of money etc. the longer you leave it, the harder it will be.

If you tell your man the bracelet he bought you was "faulty" he is going to feel like your blaming him that it got lost. You knew the clasp wasn't good and chose to wear it anyway, there are ways to get that fixed or just get one of the safety chains. Too late now though... You do need to tell him you lost it though., he is going to think you didn't like it otherwise.

Tell him that you lost the bracelet. Tell him how awful you feel about it. Don't mention that the clasp was faulty because that will make it seem as if you are blaming him. Let him know that you loved the bracelet and that you were very careful with it.
I am sorry you lost your bracelet.

Don't feel guilty just confess up to the real truth, since honesty in a realtionship is really important just say that the clasp was faulty and it fell off one night.

No, it wasn't your fault that it fell off, but it is your fault that you lied. Lies always make things worse. You need to come clean. And don't make any excuses for yourself when you do tell him because you will come off as insincere.
Good luck.

Tell the truth that it fell off and you cannot find it, even though you backtracked your steps

I would have told him, and it's still not too late.
Inevitable loss is one of many reasons I don't like expensive, fragile gifts.
