If you try to be polite and friendly, why do people feel that they have to give thumbs down? (who died and made them God?)
Puts you off bothering to answer anything, it's ungreatful!
What do you think, does it ever really annoy you too?

NO. The same power that compelled you to answer the way you did, compelled them to respond the way THEY did. It's a beautiful thing....NOBODY has ALL the right answers, our culture is too diversified...another good thing. Being polite and friendly is awesome. People that give thumbs down have their reasons, and it's ok.
Don't stop answering.....be proud of your politeness and friendliness....and screw what other people think, lol. Don't be annoyed....the world doesn't need any more noids, lol.

It's worth it - but as much as I try not to, I do feel a bit annoyed (and slammed) when I've given a thoughtful answer (some questions shouldn't be answered in just a line or two) and it gets a cast of thumbs down.

Glad there are some people that take YA for what it is meant to be!

Thumbs down is just a way to freedom of expression. When we open our mouths and speak out we always open our selves up to risk. On here the risk is that not every one will agree. Of that not everyone will understand where we are coming from. Life in general is about risk and cause and effect. If we close our selves up to the thumbs down then we also close our selves to the thumbs up. I think hiding from the thumbs down will never make us happy because we build a wall also to the thumbs up.

By the way I don't think peoples thumbs up or down can be comparable with God.

Sometimes. Then I remember I dont know them and they dont know me. The internet is a safe place to vent your anger and frustrations. If we said half of the things we say in here-out in public, we'd probably be stoned. Where else can people play God and get away with it? I always figure Y/A keeps a lot of nuts off the streets. That includes me. I say things in here I would never have the nerve to say in person.

Keep answering what you can, you are exchanging knowledge with other persons it is mutual benefit and its our ethics that directs us to assist others when they ask.

Keep on the correct track and don't care much about down thumbs, it is just a point of view of some persons but not all of them.

Please don't let disappointment withdraws goodness from you, stay part of the community, assist other persons and receive their assistance when you need it.

I haven't even looked to see how many of my answers receive a thumbs down even up for that matter. This is just a place that I come to kill time. Don't let it annoy you.

While thumbs down is used for some terrible answers, some people get a cheap laugh using it on great answers. Don't feel disheartened, because they're just losers. It's annoying.

What I find even more annoying is when someone posts a question, and the answer you get is a question! lol pet peeve.

I try to be respectful. Do not use hand down or thumb down unless in the sports area and they bash a player.
But you have a good question here and it deserves a respectful answer

I just try to help answer questions. I think there are folks that post questions for various reasons, and I try to give the best advice from my heart. It is up to that person, what they want to do with it.

Also these people who flag everbody for minor stuff, I hate that. The thumbs down doesn't bother me, I kinda like it.
