has asked a sensible qestion on here and is asking for advice or help, that at least one arseh*le will post a completely nasty answer? I'm sure i'll get a few back now i've posted this from exactly the kind of people i'm talking about, but there are some really messed up people out there and i was just wondering why the hell they feel compelled to be complete w*nkers to total strangers?? Is it because they don't have the guts to stand up to people in real life so it makes them feel better to belittle people from the safety of their computers??

A variation on this theme is someone called and asked for either a husband or wife to do a speaking engagement for an upcoming event. In the presence of everyone, the husband says, "who do you want more, me or her?" What do you think about that?

The other day i had a doctors appt, which i scheduled last week on the phone and when i showed up for my appt. the office staff said the doctor was not in and they lost my appoiinment. She also told me she had another patient whose appt. they lost as well that day. I could not beleve it as they were not able to call me any ways because they lost it in the system. There was a waiting room full of people and i aclmly told her i took off from work for this appt and it was scheduled a week ago ,and she evens remember talking with me on the phone when i made the appt. She kept saying im sorry, and i rescheduled my appt in a few weeks on a weekend so i dont have to take off from work. Should i tell my doctor when i see him next appt what happened and request a co-pay visit to be waived for the inconvience and time off from work i took? Dont these people keep written records as well i guess not!! Unbelievable!! I dont want to switch docs over this, what would U do??

Hi, I am from the UK, London. I hate my voice!

I don't really have a full on London accent.... I am the only person in my immediate family born in London, my mum has a Lincolnshire accent =P

Anyway... forget the accent, its just that I talk really quietly and people always say "Say again?" "What?" "Can't hear you", so i speak up- then it feels like I'm shouting and I feel stupid!

So usually I don't talk much unless spoken too, it affects my confidence. I don't walk up to girls and start talking to them etc

Anything I can do to help project my voice, naturally, like everyone else? Thanks

I am a young man working at a continuing care retirement and nursing center. I must speak to elderly people on a daily basis. Currently, because I do not know what address to use, I simply walk up and begin speaking to them.

I feel that I should not call them "Mrs" or "Madam/Ma'am" because I may run the risk of offending singles or upsetting widows. And most of these ladies are widows.

Most workers call the residents by their first names. Many are offended by this and think it disrespectful. So, currently, when I need to address a female resident by name, I say "Mizz Smith" instead of "Mrs Smith" or "Ma'am Smith". Mizz is ambiguous enough that they wont know if I am calling them Miss or Mrs.

This is not a huge deal, but it puzzles me - I see these people in front of the store with the box and the 'official' looking sign or ID card, asking for money for the homeless.

Many times stores have signs that SAY they don't support the soliciters - why don't they (the store managers ) politely ask them to leave ? They either own the property or are leaseholders.

My wife and I give to charities of our choice, at our church, and to friends in need on a regular basis - I don't appreciate being 'harrassed' by these soliciters - but much more than that, I'm really curious why the store managers don't do anything ! ? ! ?

I was just wondering - hyperthetically of course.

But say you had a lovely boyfriend who nags all the time, how could you stop it?

My brother is getting married in September. I have a reallly nice red dress that I wore when I was a bridesmaid at someone else's wedding ( long, but I would have it cut short)
My sister and I are doing the music for the wedding, so we will be at the front of the church. Would wearing a bright red dress be out of line? ( I think the bridesmaids are wearing brown/copper)

I met this cute guy in college. I noticed that everytime we got into his car he would lock the door. Also the second he got out he would lock the door. Even if we had to run to the store for like 2 min he would lock the door. He would lock his apt door also in the same situations. One time I left my purse in his car and he was like why would you do that. He ran down outside to get my purse for me. It was night not like anyone would even see it. When I told my parents this they asked me to ask him where he was from. It turns out hes from Chicago. When I told my parents this they fliped and forbid me to hang out with him anymore. They said he was from a bad neighbor hood and the the apple doesnt fall far from the tree. How can they forbid me to hang out with someone? Im fricken 19! Then when they found out he was part Italian they fliped out even more. When I told him this he thought I was joking but he seemed really hurt. Why does he always lock his doors?

I different color race came up to me out of true disrespect and to me to go back where I came from. I laugh at them and said well if you pay for my airfair and buy me house house out there and pay my bills I would go back. When i told my family how i went about things the told me that i was stupid and i should have went off on that person instead of giving in like that. But i told them that thats what that person would expect from me . And i'm that kind of person who likes to go out of the box and othing people don't expect from me. Do you think i was wrong?

I was driving to work at 65 km/hour (the speed limit on this road is 60 km/h) so I wasn't going too slow or speeding. The guy in the car behind me is tailing me really really close, to the point where I coudn't even see the front of the guys car in my rearview mirror. The road I drive down is 1 lane only, so he or I couldn't switch lanes.

So I hit my brakes (not hard enough to make my car jump or anything, but enough for him to hit his brakes hard and possibly jump a bit). Then he switched into the on-coming lane, drove next to me, gave me the finger, and then cutt me off and zoomed ahead of me.

Was I wrong to hit my breaks?

On the train a guy picked his nose and only stopped when he saw me looking. I mean he was really going for it. It looked more like he was picking his brain than his nose.

I don't have anything against it, but do it in private. What do you think?
