This seems to be a playground for young punks to get their kicks at someone elses' expense. If someone has a real question, whether or not it might seem a dumb one, they still deserve respect. Our youth of today somehow missed out on that. I have a teenage daughter, so I know. I do not tolerate rudeness. If you can not say it nicely, don't say it at all. What makes you think anyone cares what you have to say anyway? Once they hear constant garbage coming out of your mouth...they will quit listening anyway. Maybe not your :"friends" who have the same warped mentality as you, but certainly everyone else on this planet. You kids want respect? Earn it and share it. That is how you get respect. There are a lot of young people on here that need some guidance and have no one else to turn to for support. This is the excellent forum for them, because they can be anonymous. Suicide rates are high for young teens because they bottle it all up. I would hope this group can help them.

My husband and I are overdue on giving a wedding gift to our friends who got married about 14 months ago. Its actually my husband's friends so I was hoping he would take care of it but he never did, so now I am before it gets any longer. Obviously we are quite embarassed but I don't think we should necessiarily focus on that in the card, but rather still congratulate them. Perhaps say that we still fondly remember their wedding day?? We will not be delivering the gift in person, it will be mailed, and I would like to keep the card somewhat brief. How should we handle this situation? And, what should we say in the card? Thanks for your help!!

My son and I were walking along the street today, side by side. An old lady was walking towards us, so my son leapt off the path and into the road in order to let the lady through. She then muttered under her breath, "get out of the way you stupid little......"
Naturally I was furious, no one tells my son he's stupid except me.
So I called her a rude old bat, whereupon some nosy passerby stopped and told me to leave her be, started trapping off about how I should have some respect for the elderly!

There are tons of websites where you can complain about hotels, airlines, restaurants, etc. What about one where we as the workers can complain about the worst customers. Sometimes you get people that are just the absolute worst!!!

Do you go somewhere for breakfast or brunch or dinner on Sunday? Or do you do so on Saturday or Friday? What kind of family tradition do you observe every week, or on special days of the month?

Please feel free to state your religion, nationality, or ethnicity. Thank you very much.

I personally think it is totally anti-social behaviour when youths spit out their phlegm onto the pavements as they walk along. it really disgusts me. You'd never get anyone with any manners doing this. Would you ever say anything to someone you saw do it?

My bf and his 2 roomates live in an apt and they have no TABLE! When they cook dinner they just grab their plate and sit on the couch and watch tv! I dont understand why they dont atleast go out and buy a card table! I offered and they were like NO! We like having the extra space. But you should see them trying to eat. They put their drinks on the floor and set their plates in their laps and try to cut their steaks or what ever else their eating. I dont even think they have napkins either. Its just real annoying for me I dont understand it. Are all young males like this? Can somone explain why they just dont go out and get a table?

I am overwhelmed by people's kindness.

I found out that I am pregnant, so we had to cut our guest list to the point that only family members were invited. My mother-in- law's friends, who I have not met, still sent us cards with checks.

How do I thank them for their act of kindness? I feel bad because they are not invited to the wedding.

My wife says yes. I say no. You serve yourself except for the wait staff getting your drink, some places not even that... I saw a sign at a local cafeteria "hireing wait staff, $2.25 per hour plus tips. They already charge $1.50 for a glass of tea then pay an extra dollar so so they can bring it you? It sounds like me & thier staff are getting ripped off ! I left a tip this time but to told my wife I was going to Yahoo answers for your opinion.

It's getting too distracting. I'd like to tell him about it but it's quite embarrassing since he's 24 already. I've always thought parents teach their kids about table manners at 5 yrs old. What do you think is the best way to make it known to him that he has to get rid of that bad habit. Some good and polite lines, please?

This has been my fifteenth day at my first job in the airport. Today, I finally got my first rude customer. My boss and my other coworkers told me my first few days that there will occasionally be customers who are very mean. They all said not to take it at heart because it really doesn't matter. I get that but today, with that customer, I really just wanted to say something. He was SO rude. I didn't want to curse at him or yell but I did want to give him a "Why are you so miserable, I pity you" look. I wanted to say "Relax sir, we all have our problems. Take it all out on me but you should know that would be very immature" but I controlled myself. The guy was in his sixties. I couldn't even look at him afterwards or I would've gone off. I gave him his receipt and I didn't smile.

Anyway, how have you dealt with such customers? What should I do in the future?

Let me say this 1st I love me!!! But a co worker disturbed me today she told me to my face that I look like a plain old black girl!! & nonthing is wrong with looking like anything. Now i know for a fact that isnt so. My mom is "black" my dad is "indian" i picked up more of my dads traits than my mom. & clearly looking at me you can tell that I am 1/2 of something..A coworker asked me which 1 of my parents was white? I said 1 is black 1 is indian. So my other coworker says what are you talking about she looks like plain old black girl.& that would be fine 100% black but clearly& physically looking at me i am not why woul she say that? Thats like looking at a dog and calling it a cat.. am i over analyzing? or was she indirectly being sarcastic??

Just a couple hours ago I was stranded on the freeway out of gas. I was in some industrial park/commercial district area next to the LAX in Los Angeles. I NEVER run out of gas but this time around the "Low fuel" warning light had quit working on me on a 5 year old car.

I walked off the freeway and 2 miles later I find a cab. He said he'd give me a ride if the person who called him doesn't show. He didn't show. So right when I was about to get in he gets a phone call for another customer. He then says, "You can walk". This is an East Indian cab driver. He jumps into the car while I'm still talking to him. "But I'm stranded. This is a high crime area, what if I get mugged or killed". He said "It's not my problem" as he continues to accelerate away nearly runing me over.

Now I know that businesses "have the right to refuse service to anybody". But seriously now, do you guys think he was in the wrong? Good that I'm OK but I've never been so scared in my whole life.

Well naturally, the situation is a bit complex. I need to stay on a good "friendly" relation with this person because from time to time she and I work closely together on different projects. But here are the problems-
1) She's a time hog. If she invites me to lunch for, she'll take up the entire afternoon!
2) She tends to cut people off in the middle of their sentences. Annoying yes, especially when I have to get my point across to her.
3) She wants us to socailize after work. She eats up enough time when we're on the clock, I can't afford to give her any of my family/home time.
4) Her children are monsters! My sons have autism, they don't know how to defend themselves, or worse, I don't want them picking up her kids bad behavior.
I've already tried talking to this lady about my issues with her, but she just doesn't hear me. What can I do!?!
