It ruins it for everyone. Use the damn toilet. I'm on vacation, and the pool at my hotel is *misty*. Kinda ruins it.

They don't think anyone will notice or they are under the impression that the chlorine in the pool neutralizes it. Even if it does, it's still inconsiderate to other people. No one likes the thought of swimming in another person's urine.

When I was real little (about three) I didn't know there was a difference between pee and water. When my mom figured out I'd been peeing in the pool, she nipped that in the bud by informing me that the pool managers put a chemical in the pool that reacts with pee and makes the pee look purple so that everyone knows who did it! I never, ever peed in the pool again. (Later on, I found out there's no such chemical, but it had the desired effect. Would be nice if there was a chemical like that.)

Urine is sterile upon leaving the body. If you are submerged in a pool and happen to urinate then all it means is that a completely sterile substance has entered a mold/bacteria free environment. So the actual urination doesn't do anything but add more liquid to the pool. Not only that but there are much more disgusting things entering the pool that you should worry about such as vaginal fluids, menstrual fluids, and fecal matter.

I think it's mostly little kids that pee in the pool. They're swimming in warm water & just can't hold it.
That "misty" water might not be pee, it could just be the chemicals the hotel adds to the water.

If the pool is "misty" it is likely due to a pH imbalance and not excess urine. Obviously the pool keeper is not skilled at balancing all the chemicals in the pool. I do agree with you that the pool is not the place to relieve yourself!

Hello,

LOL, I remember as a kid my father used to want me to stay home Saturdays and work in the yard rather than go swimming at the YMCA or local city pool. Michael, I'd wager half them kids do not wipe their posteriors or pee once they jump in the pool! I did not buy his point and went swimming anyway... until I'd suddenly get a taste of foul water im my mouth by accident, my eyes burned and stung suddenly whilst doing my lengths and to add insult to injury a big booger would float casually towards my face. Hence forth my dad got a lot more help in the garden!

Cheers,

Michael Kelly

Yeah, they're lazy. Another thing I hate is babies in the pool-don't trust those "leakproof" swimming diapers.
