i think everyone gets a first impression based on ones looks, but once i get to know someone and start talking to them is when i REALLY determine what theyre like.

I believe and have read that most people do judge people by their looks... at least on the first impression. It's definitely not the thing to do in the longer run. Few people would have many friends or employers if that were the case.

Sometimes, but not always. I tend to judge people and immediately make conclusions about them. For example, I might say, "oh, they are wearing a tie-dye shirt and sandals, they must be poor and don't care what they look like." I judge people on how much they weigh, unfortunately, a lot of the times. I know its wrong, but sometimes I can't help it. But never will I say anything, thats just being rude and stupid. I treat them like everyone else.

I think we all do, based on our past experiences (if someone reminds us of someone who harmed us in the past, most people are wary), the context of the situation (if we're alone in a dark street at night in a bad area of town and someone who looks like a thug approaches us, darn right most people are going to make a judgement based on looks!), and what's involved (we might be more inclined to blow people off based on looks in a situation where we are unlikely to ever see the people again, as opposed to a situation involving people we know we will meet again).

I think most people are mature enough to temper their first-look judgements and give people the benefit of the doubt, unless there is high risk involved (e.g., the thug approaching us on the dark street).

More subtley, we tend to be influenced by the attractiveness of people in ways we may be unconscious of. It's no accident that most of the people pitching products are attractive and dress impeccably! Or that the most successful politicians tend to be charismatic and attractive people, although there are some notable exceptions to that.

Yes I do judge based on looks. That's why I look as good as possible everytime I step outside my door. I dress to impress every day, and I also maintain my hair and weight (I'm not fat or skinny)

Yes. I am sorry to say it but I do. I normally run into and associate w/ good looking people (myself included who are down to earth). But I tend to see that most physically gifted are either a) very dim witted or b) have a very shallow personalities. I find that people w/ unique looks tend to have more personality and depth.

Probably not as bad as some ~
it's natural & unavoidable to at least some degree.
I certainly know the difference between my fair judgments & an assumed or uneducated one.
