I was just wondering - hyperthetically of course.

But say you had a lovely boyfriend who nags all the time, how could you stop it?

This is an interesting situation.

My knee jerk reaction was to say "no, it's not fair to try to train him -- you take him pretty much as-is, or you move onto greener pastures."

But then you say he is a nagger. What is a nagger but someone who is trying to train YOU by relentless haranguing?! So you would be trying to change him so that he will stop trying to change you.

I see a rough road ahead -- rough for you because he's clearly got some discontent with you and control issues (hence the nagging "all the time"). Rough for him because you're unhappy with this behavior. I hope you can find a way to deal with this. Good luck.

Being a bloke, I fully understand.
I am trained to mend the boat, do the cooking, wash up, do all the ropes, buy the beers, play the guitar at night etc.
But the mother of our children looks after them whilst doing so. What could be more important?
Oh yes, I agree that the male of the species is more easilly trained to do things, and that females have a definite immovable veiw on some things. It is natural, so us blokes just go along, for a peaceful life.
It, for us, works fine both ways.

First train him that when ever he hears a certain noise he will get a beer. Then When ever he doesn't nag make that noise and give him a beer - when he passes out he won't be nagging you.
Seriously - It is more practical to review good behaviors than to try and train out bad behaviors, any recognition of the bad behavior reinforces it. So ignore the nag, and let him know how good he is when he complements you, or helps you with something. And if that doesn't work. Leave.

Women do little else but train men. The only difference is the extent to which men realise they are being trained.

Is it possible to train? Depends what breed your boyfriend is. Poodles are easy to train, Dobermans are hard.

I really don't think so, they are just to hard to train. But good luck trying to.

Being a guy, I almost don't want to answer this...
get clarity first, is he nagging because he is frustrated about something, are his expectations too much or unreasonable...

talk it through and then communicate your feelings openly and very clearly- look him in the eye when you talk to him so he knows you are serious.... guys respect a person who commands respect... being wishy washy will change nothing.

I am the head of my household, but my wife is the neck that turns the head. How true that is, a partnership. Or as Phill Collins put it ''Two hearts beating in just one mind''.
