Are you talking about cubicle walls? It depends on company policy and if you're sharing an office space. At mine, we can decorate our cubicles as long as no offensive material (porn, swear words) is visible, and as long as the items don't interfere with work productivity (loud radios) or OSHA standards.

Those who share a cubicle in shifts limit themselves to a photo of loved ones and a calendar.

Actual walls can't be tampered with since they are the property of the firm who leases the office space to us. We can hang a picture or two, but they can only be selected from an available pool of pictures held by Facilities Mgt, or they need to get approval from Facilities Mgt. Mainly boring pictures of ducks, sailboats, horses, etc.

If company policy allows you to bring decorations, I'd say that you should make sure your decorations are tasteful. Make sure you don't use anything that could be considered offensive or harassing to other employees. Otherwise you're free to do what you choose within what company policy allows.

Less is more!!! Limit your cubicle decoration to just a couple of not too personal decorations or items. Professionalism above all.
