I would like to know what shoul happen when you as a manager are being disrespected by one of your t/members in front of the guest. Specialy when you are being told by the t/member that he was joking, when ready to issue a poor behavior record.

I'm going to a wedding this weekend with an open bar. When would be the best time to tip the bartender? Usually I tip per drink, but would it be okay to give a larger tip (probably $15-20) when I get my first drink, or maybe at the end of the night? I am not bringing a purse, so I don't want to keep going to my date to get my money to go tip the bartender.

Thanks for any advice!

They will find only food and drinks. It's not like there is something too personal in there! I don't mind if friends come and open my refrigerator and serve themselves. What's the big deal?!

I do!

Not creepy polite, clearly to get in your pants.
But polite without thinking, just kind of takes care of you? Not aggressively, or patronizingly. Not because he feels obligated. Just little things, like being a step ahead to hold the door, or getting your chair, making sure he sits facing the wall, or asking if you mind before he loosens his tie or takes off his coat. A little protective of you in scary situations (not making you walk on the building-side of the sidewalk, I don't like that).
I know its not the dark ages, that men don't have to serve women and women don't need them to. I don't think a man should ever have to, I just think it's nice.

Opinions? Any one feel the same?

When I was a street rat at least I knew where I stood with people. In this rediculous corporate world with false pleasentries one never knows what daggers are couched behind a statement. Wouldnt the world be better if one could just state their honest opinion without out all the fake garbage being pc entails?

We're not really allowed to have pets in my apartment complex, but I've seen a couple of other people with cats and even one with a small dog. Should I just go ahead and get a kitten without asking permission, or risk asking and having the manager say no?

Yesterday I was shopping at Mervyns. I've lost alot of weight, finally able to shop in the juniors section. I'm very excited about my weight loss and found a new love of shopping. I found two pairs of jeans that I wanted to try on. I went to the dressing room and there were 2 little girls (about 18 or 19 years old. They gave me a room, and a few moments later, I heard them completely laughing at me and saying, "OMG she is so fat!!" I was completely mortifiied. I didn't even try on the other pair of jeans. I just walked out and they looked at me and laughed. I so wanted to just be real ghetto and go off on them, but I was too upset. Yes, I've lost ALOT of weight (over 100lbs), and I'm certainly not skinny, but I'm not OVER WEIGHT either. I had severe self esteem issues before and I must say my self esteem has gotten better, but those kids brought me right back to the old me before I lost weight. Mean words hurt! How would you have handled this? I won't shop there again.

I call this snap, crackle, pop. It is more than a pet peeve - I can't stand it. How should I handle it if a person is smacking at the movies or when I get a waitress that does that? Moving to another seat in the movie theatre and you can still hear them. Whatever happened to common courtesy? I think everyone knows it is still not right to chew with your mouth open when eating, why all this gum clicking and popping? I wish it didn't get to me, but it does.

I cannot for the life of me understand why this lady I work with acts so hateful towards me. We have worked together for over 3 years, and within the past year, she has just become very antagonistic towards me. The only thing is, I never said or did anything to her that would make her feel hateful towards me. I am much younger than her (she is 63, I am 28) so I was wondering if that may have something to do with it. Either way, it really bothers me because other co-workers have noticed it and are baffled as well.

I'm a female. My two good friends are getting married. My date backed out, and I don't know any other men who I'm comfortable inviting. Would it be okay for me to bring a female friend as my "date"? I have not yet RSVP'd but I'm definitely going. Problem is that I won't know any other guests there.. so it might be a little uncomfortable for me to go alone.

First - I give doctors too much power. I have my reasons, but it takes up too much space and time to write.
I see my therapist once a week, and on Tuesday, she told me I won't get friends unless I dress differently, believe different things and like different things. I am unconcsiously letting her in this situation. I've started rebelling against my family, dressing in pants, tight-fitting tshirts, with my hair loose and plucking my eyebrows. My family is furious with me for giving in to my therapist, but I feel that she is a therapist and knows best. At the same time, I'd like to smack her.
For next week, I'm supposed to write a list of things that are very important to me, such as religious beliefs, modesty beliefs, moral values and a likes/dislikes list. She is going to with me and it, and change where necessary. This is my key to making friends. I'm terrified. What can I do?

Let's say you give a gift certificate to someone. This gift certificate is an online gift certificate that you send to them via e-mail, and they use it on the website.

Now let's say you regret giving them the gift, and decide that you would like to take it back.

So what you do is you go to the website, and tell them that the original gift certificate got deleted by accident by the person you gave it to. You then get them to void/cancel the current gift certificate's "claim code", and request that they send a new "claim code".

However, you request that this new "claim code" be sent to your e-mail address, rather than re-sent to the e-mail address of the person you originally gave the gift certificate to.

I now ask you: What do you think of this entire thing? Do you think it is okay to do? If not okay, then how bad is it?

We have had people leaving at an alarming rate from my work, and a mass number of brithdays. So awhile ago, it was decided that we would start a collection every week to cover the cost of brithday cakes and going away gifts.
It was decided that we would all contribute $1 a week and that we would spend $10 on a card and a brithday cake, and $20 on a present when someone leaves.
Before this collection started we had one girl leave, who has since returned, and when she left we all contributed $3 to buy her a cherry ripe mud cake from the cheescake shop and a card, and we put all the fancy sparklers in the cake and made this huge fuss & then she was only gone for 5 weeks.
Then since the collection a few people have left and they have all had afternoon teas and presents.
Well today is my last day, and I got leftover cake from a welcome morning tea yesterday and a card. Not that I care if I get a gift or not, it's just that they made such a huge fuss about the whole collection thing.

She is looking for love and has been going on dates set up by a dating service. A few days ago, she told me she went out with a guy but he was too DARK. He was Middle Eastern. She is Asian-Chinese and has said that she doesn't want to date an Asian, but is looking for a white man or Mexican. I am getting the impression that she is a little racists. I am her friend, and I am African American and her remarks stunn me.
