Whenever I am out with my beautiful 14 year old daughter, complete strangers ask my age. I know some people may take that as a compliment, but I find it rude, and would never dream of asking a person's age.
Can someone offer a witty, however, diplomatic response.

Customer service 101 doesn't quite cover this topic...
It happened to me 3 weeks ago, THANKFULLY I DIDN'T HAVE TO GET PHYSICAL!!! However, there is a huge problem with the customer base where I work at, many customers who think they can get by with cussing, taunting, and yes, even tearing out after someone because they are upset over a $2.00 - $6.00 order that wasn't correct.
And trust me, phrases like calm down man, here's your refund!!! or GROW UP, or , there's the door see your @$$ to it -- DO NOT HELP. But enough of what we wish we could say and get by with -- when you feel physically threatened, you also have to worry about being FIRED? What's wrong with this picture? America has gone bonkers with this ME FIRST ATTITUDE and THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT ATTITUDE. Just days before my incident, at a gas station up the street, I seen the same situation, where fortunately the lady could whoop *** and unfortunately had to protect herself, only being fired on the spot..uhmmmmmm

My husband and I threw my son a birthday party. I send out invitations with my number and everyone my husbands side RSVP's to my mother in law instead of me. Then when I called her the day before the party she stated these ten people were attending. Was it bad ettiquette for them to RSVP to her and not me? And was it bad ettiquette for her not to inform me of this more then 24 hours in advance? On top of that, I had to rush and get extra supplies for these people. Goody bags and such for the kids. I had exactly enough of everything then at the party my sister in laws best friend and her daughter showed up by the way this is a woman i do not get along with. This women was invited by my sister in law without my knowledge. This woman never spoke to me or my husband but sat down and ate our food and took two goody bags for her one child at the end. Was this bad ettiqutte on my sister is laws part for inviting her? My sister is law stated i was just being a B and it was not a big deal.

I have neighbors across the hall way that are very loud during the day. Loud banging techno music, they slam doors etc. I work the night shift so it is mostly when I'm sleeping.

I need to clean my apartment. I have to vacuum! But the only time I can is late at night 11pm on. Even though they are rude and noisy, is it still okay for me to be?

I have recently put on 10lbs since i started my job a year ago. That really doesn't bother me since it's my body. But what does bother me is that they have the balls to say it right to my face. Two woman from the last two weeks have flat out said "your getting fat". . I try to get alone with my co-workers because i don't really have time for drama. So i would like to know how other people would handle something like this because if i hear it again the outcome may not be so nice.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 years. We are in our mid-20's, I'm a grad-student and he works full-time. We plan on getting married when I graduate in about 2 years.

Since, we've been dating, he has lived in a shared house w/ his brother, cousin and a close friend. Each guy has there own bedroom, but only my boyfriend is in a serious relationship. I live w/ my parent's and spend a lot of time@ my bf's house. The guys have no problem w/ me being there. They actually like it b/c I love to cook, it's my hobby and they love to eat.

However, my bf's roommates do not respect our privacy. When I sleepover, we do not lock the bedroom door b/c my bf has a dog that needs to get in an out of the room. As a result, I often find his roommates barging into his room in the morning, sitting on the edge of the bed and having convo's with him while I'm still sleeping. I'm very uncomfortable with this. I like my privacy when I sleep.

Hi.
Recently someone asked me why I addressed a letter to my seven year old nephew as "Master Alex Smith" and my explanation was received with blank looks. Is it still correct to address letters for males below the age of maturity as "Master" than "Mr." and females as "Miss" for underage, "Ms" for teenage to mid 20s, "Mz" for unmarried women and "Mrs" for married? or has this gone out of favor?

: look up at the stars and moon in the nice peaceful darkness. Except my new neighbour has her bathroom window opposite where i park my bike- its the only place i can park it- and she likes to shower with the blinds open and the lights on. its kills my early morning joy. i mean you cant see anything just her head and shoulders but yucko. And i mean i think its not like she is enjoying the view of our house or anything and everybody knows that you cant see out in the dark when you have your light on anyway. she knows i park my bike there and she hears me starting it up in the morning. i have even seen her peering out the window at me. why does she not close her blinds? yuck.

She does this all the time and I'm sick of it. I just don't know how to say no.
Every time a girl gets pregnant or its the bosses birthday etc...(no matter wether its in our office or a satellite office she orders a bunch of baby stuff and then without asking hands out bills to everyone letting them know how much it is (split up amongst the office staff)

I'm just getting sick of being nickeled and dimed.....

I was in a check out line. The yong woman behind the counter was a friendly acquaintance. She is well-endowed and was wearing a low-cut top. The customer in frojnt of me was elderly, so she walked around in front of her cart and was helping her unload her items. She was standing directly in front of me, bending, and I could see almost her enitre breasts. I said nothing. In this case should a man tell her she is exposed in case she may not know it? Or do I assume she is aware of it and just enjoy it? Once a friend of mine was exposing herself and I took her aside later and told her she may want to be careful when wearing that top. She took it well.

Consider this scenario and please post your views. Thank you.
An 18 year old girl has a certain disability and her parents are worried because she is too friendly and places enormous trust on strangers. They have suggested to their physician about the possibility of the girl undergoing hysterectomy "just to be safe" as in preventing the girl from being exploited by strangers and possibly getting pregnant.
What do you think about their suggestion?

I'm filling out my sister's baby shower invitations. They are very informal, but I still want them to be polite. What exactly should I write to let the guests know that we will be serving an informal lunch during the shower? I don't want to leave it off in case people wonder and don't know if they should eat first or not, but I'm not sure how to word it. Thanks for your suggestions.

Of course there is racism in this world. I've seen it's ugly head first hand working in the hospital. I've also seen more of the opposite, love and kindness for each other.
But sometimes, it seems you can't win.

In all honesty, white people don't know what black people want. Using the word 'black' makes some black people mad. Respectfully, I don't get that.
That is a description needed to be used at times. Just as white is.

I heard a wise black educator describe what he told his child when he came running home crying that a boy at school called him a poor black kid. He told him yes, you are black and yes you are a kid. He was wrong to call you poor. He taught him to be proud when he was called black, not ashamed of it.

First the race wanted and deserved to be included in everything all people got to do. Then when they were, they began to differentiate themselves in reverse and isolate themselves. The races are divided more due to this. It's very confusing.
Thanks

I have a co-worker who wears a baseball cap (a tattered one at that) all day in our office - which is a professional setting.

For starters, we have a dress code. Furthermore, it looks ridiculous for a grown man to be wearing a baseball cap. Is there a way to subtly tell him this is ridiculous?

My friend out of no where asked me if I was homophopic as we were walking over to a field to play soccer, and I said no, because I defiantely don't have a problem with homosexual people. But then he started laughing and said, "ahahaha, that means your gay".
Should not being homophobic mean you are gay?!

I was out for my birthday on Friday night in NYC with my girlfriend. We were out at a restaurant that we had waited a month for reservations. We were at the bar waiting for a table , there was a bachelor party next to us.My girlfriend is thin, but very well endowed on top, and very attractive. All of a sudden a drunk guy from the party ran over and grabbed my girlfriend's butt and grabbed her breasts. She screamed "Get the hell off of me" I grabbed his hand and said "What the F*** are you doing!!!" and he punched me in the jaw.I punched him back and a fight ensued, The restaurant's manager came over and had me and him escorted out of the restaurant. I am very angry. I acted in self defense and was protecting my girlfriend. How do I handle this with the restaurant and the drunk guy??

When I was 16, at a family reunion, I was in a room changing into a swimming suit, and I had just gotten all of my street clothes off, and was about to put on my swimming suit, when an Aunt came in, (she didn't know I was in there), and I forgot to lock the door 'cause I thought everyone was outside by the pool. She opened the door wide as she came in, and said, "Ohh, I didn't know you were in here, sorry! But don't you worry, I will just get what I came in here for, and get out of your way. And, with my having 3 boys your age, you haven't got anything I haven't seen before honey!" Then she got what she came for, gave me a big hug,( I was still naked and dumbfounded by her entrance), and slapped me on the butt as she left, and said, "Nice butt cheeks!" As soon as she was gone, I locked the door, and didn't know whether I should forget about swimming or not!

Over the last 2 years my downstairs neighbors(condo) have complained 3 times that our shower leaked water on them. the first 2 times i said call me the next day and ill turn on the shower to see if i see any water leaking, well they never called. This past sunday after my wife gets out of the shower, the neighbor comes up and says u leaked on us again and its time you call a plumber or else. I let her in to show her there was nothing visible on our end. I went to the maitnence guy at our asscociation, and talked to a plumber friend. Both of them said its their responsiblilty to call the plumber since they have the visible problem. However, if the plumber determines it my fault im liable, I'm ok with that, But these people have not called the maintenece guy or a plumber, just called me and complained. i said well im not calling and get charged a evaluation fee, when theres a possibilty it aint me, after all im going on thier word that there is even a leak. So what should i do?

What is your policy on "dropping your kids off at the pool" in a public restroom, in which most stalls are occupied:
1.) If it sounds like WWIII, that's great!
2.) Only small "plop" sounds are acceptable,
3.) Be patient, and wait for the rest to leave.
4.) Something else, please explain...

When visiting a friend's house, in this case the opposite sex, for the first time what are some good things to know when I first enter? What do I do when meeting the mother? What do I do when they offer some food they had for dinner already. When and how do I tell them I should leave because I don't want to overstay my visit?
