I have neighbors across the hall way that are very loud during the day. Loud banging techno music, they slam doors etc. I work the night shift so it is mostly when I'm sleeping.

I need to clean my apartment. I have to vacuum! But the only time I can is late at night 11pm on. Even though they are rude and noisy, is it still okay for me to be?

How loud is your vacuum? Most modern vacuums may be heard in another room or apartment but aren't nearly as loud as loud music or slamming doors, it's more of a low buzz.... unless you have a really old one from your mom or from the thrift store :P

It may be a good idea to find another place to live, if your work schedule is so far off and the apartment is very noisy then it's hard to live there, people are going to keep you up which they really can't be blamed for 'cause it's the middle of the day and you'll have to be quiet all night when you're awake.

If you're neighbors were pleasant, considerate and friendly...would you then vacuum late at night ? I think not. Just because your neighbors are loud is not reason for you to behave that way as a neighbor.

When would you otherwise be vacuuming since the only time you have to clean your place is at night...no mater if neighbors are rudely loud or considerately quiet ?

Answer that . . . and you will know when is the right time to vacuum with your work schedule.

Another thought...Tell you neighbors your situation and ask if they don't mind that you vacuum late at night. Tell them you are asking this as you want to be CONSIDERATE of the NOISE LEVEL and not bother other neighbors as you are aware that sounds carry and can be heard through the hall.

Two things here...you have at least asked how they feel about you vacuuming AND (hint, hint to them) about the noise level.

Go for it. It's not like you're doing something unusual like playing loud music. You're cleaning. You just happen to have different hours but you still need to get your housework done. Just try to do it as quickly as possible. If your neighbors say anything, remind them that they play music loudly & slam doors during the day when you're sleeping. Those aren't things they have to do. They probably won't have a problem with it. It's not like a vaccum makes that much noise. Just try to be quick about it.

I, in my view, would not want to chance eating ham that has been unrefrigerated for 13 hours, or maybe over 2 hours and in a automobile for a million (am a stickler at the same time as it includes meats of any form). i'd recommend that you %. some thing else to herald case you may't replace your commute agenda. if you're set in this plan, is it plausible to emphasize for your vacation spot on Friday afternoon/evening and lead them to right here morning; OR make the spread the evening earlier, refrigerate, and make preparations that you'll be able to arrive in the morning to practice some thing else. The biscuits basically should not be appeasing if pre-made and refrigerated, nor ought to the spread be left unrefrigerated.

I don't know. I believe that you should be considerate of your neighbors regardless of what time of day it is or regardless of whether their considerate of you.

Your neighbors should be considerate of you by not slamming doors or playing loud music day or not. You should do the same.

Um...I don't know where you live. Whether it's a small apartment complex or college dorm or what. I don't know what the rules are at your apartment complex.

Develop a friendly relationship with them. Then strike some compromise between them. I tend to be more considerate of neighbors that I am friendly with. I am also more willing to compromise if they compromise something always. Then again...you could be the opposite and not care. Vaccum whenever you want.

Yes. It is your apartment and you are across the hall. Go ahead and vacuum. The worst that can happen is they will complain, but how can they do that. You rent your space just as much as they rent theirs. Don't worry about it and go vacuum crazy!

Vacuum away, you are in your home and need to clean sometime. Vacuum cleaner noise is nothing compared to loud banging when you are trying to sleep. Been there........

I don't believe you ONLY have 11pm at night to vacuum. You are asking for permission for revenge on your noisy neighbors. It is not okay for you to do something that your criticizing others for. Period.

Besides, don't you have other neighbors as well that might hear a vacuum at 11PM?? It is YOUR working hours that are odd, find another place to live, soundproof at your own expense, or wear some ear-plugs.

I ask myself the same question everytime I do it. I don't think it would hurt anyone. What are they going to do call the cops on us for wanting our house clean. HA HA that would be a sight.
