Recently I pulled into a parking spot, pulled through, so I do not have to back out (I hate backing up). As I was three-quarters of the way through, a man tried pulling into the space I was moving into. He kept telling me to back up, I refused. He got out of the car and looked at my sweat shirt and said, "you must be a dumb pollock because your from michigan," with his heavy New York accent. Is it just me, or do all New Yorkers have such a nasty attitude about everything.

Last night I went out to dinner with my friend. The total tab came out to a little over $25, with hers costing over $11 and mine costing over $13. When it came time to pay the bill, I said I would put it on my credit card, and she could give me cash. She said, "I'll give you $12" and handed over $12 in cash. She then instructed me to put down about $4 in tip on my credit card... so essentially, I ended up paying almost the entire tip for our meal.

I feel that she should have given me $13 instead of $12 so that it would have been closer to 15% of her total. I know it's only a dollar, but it's the principle of the whole thing--I know she can do the math and that she knows she hadn't given me enough to cover her tip. Next time she does something like this, should I ask her to put down a little more?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not suggesting that we should stop caring about one another, but isn't "How are you?" always followed by "fine" or just "good"?

How about just saying, "Hello, I hope you've been well." I feel this conveys my interest in one's well-being without having to ask a question that the person being greeted may not want to answer honestly.

Does anyone answer with anything other than "fine"? Just to change the pace and make people around me more attentive, when I'm asked, my reply is "Just fair, thanks, and I hope you've been well."

Then if the person I'm greeting wants to tell me about the accident s/he had or about the argument he had with his spouse, okay, I'm ready to listen. But if we're always going to answer with "fine," then I don't see the point and I propose we change our standard greeting to, "Hello, I hope you've been well."

What do you think? Thanks in advance for your answers ... and have a good one.

I've bought a pair of tickets for Swan Lake at the Opera House Manchester for tomorrow night. Do you know if there is a special dress code for this event? I've never been to a ballet performance or to this venue so... I dont want to get there in "trainers" and find the rest of the people in black tie. Heeeeeeeelp! Cheerio

I recently got accepted to a graduate program. There are people I know in that program that are about to graduate. When I told them I got accepted, they look SO DISAPPOINTED as if I weren't fit to be in it. I am a nice guy and make good grades, so why do they look like they don't want me in their program. They don't even know me that well.

i moved to this new school on mid-january and i just knew one girl. i ate lunch with her the first couple of weeks but i can tell she is getting annoyed b/c evrytime i get to where she's sitting she kind of goes to another table so both of us can be alone instead of with her friends. i got the hint and stopped eating lunch with her, but where do i sit now? i already have almost 4 weeks in my new school. i think it would be expected for me to have somewhere to sit. i am pretty friendly and talkative in class and i discuss topics with teachers, i think i'm pretty good-looking, and i do hang out with people in class, i just can't seem to hang out with them during lunch or talk to them about something that's not-school related and i don't want to seem like an annoying girl who clings-on to a clique when she's not wanted there. i already joined some clubs to meet new friends and have something to do during lunch. would it b wierd for me to sit alone and wait for someone to cometalk to me?

Would it be wrong to take as many, for sure, known bad guys with me as possible. While I still can? And I do mean the worst.
When you weigh the choices,it's a no brainer.A lot of suffering or real quick and make a differance a lot of people would like to do but can't

My grandma wants to do for dinner. Again. 2 days in a row. I can't stand her. The only reason I delt with her today is I know I'll feel guilty when she's gone... which will be awhile...

The truth will not work. I think she's very cold and it's awkward being around her. I cannot handle two days in a row.

Please, any suggestions will be appreciated!

I've been here a short time, but I see that some people's questions are valid and some are not. How do you deal with those who feel they already know the "meaning of life" and are ignorant anyway?

Its an age old Question, Why do women believe they should be paid for ? Do they have any idea what it cost ? How supervicial are they ? and even though they may say they don't, why if given a chance will they milk a guy for money ? Some seem to make a career out of it ! Is there any difference between such women and prostitutes? (At least a hookers not a theif). So why do women think it's ok to bleed guys dry ? Remember the saying "a fool and his money are easily parted" ? Well i'm not any deceitful womens fool !

If you use the "wrong terminology" because you don't like to type out the whole "proper terminology" there are some rude comments to follow. I come here to ask questions as a last resort, last because there are so many idiots with no webiquette. To all you holier-than-thou rudeass people out there, go screw yourself.
