to see me. They are on their way to visit other people in a more distant city. The plan is they will stop, see my home, and pick me up to go to lunch. then they will proceed on their way and i can get home ok. I am nearby. the question is do I offer them anything when they get here to eat or drink? Or, do we just proceed after a few min to the restraurant.

Why are black people allowed to say the "N" word to each other as a common greeting sometimes, but if anyone else says it the word suddenly becomes offensive and taboo? Isn't a racial slur a racial slur, PERIOD!? Isn't allowing one race to use it while condemning others for using it a form of racism itself?

A person at my school drove me home from school once, and saw my house, and now every time they see me they say something like "you and your mansion", or "your huge house". They don't say it in a mean way, but I am never sure how to respond, because if I were to deny the comment, they would know I was trying to be modest, and say something like "yeah, right!"?
I am so confused.

(This is a repost of my other resolved question but in details!!)
I am seventeen years old. I have been bestfriends with this one girl for 3 years. But her mom never really let us hang out until this past summer. We live on the same block. At 6 o'clock my best friend calls me up and tells me her mom gave her permission and if I'll come over and watch a movie. I went. By the time the movie was over, it was 7:30. Then we went online and 8 PM her mom came in and told me "It's time for us to go to bed and time for you to leave" The thing is her daughter stays in my house all the time. My mom never told her anything like this EVER. When she is over, we always ask if she wants anything to eat and drink and always bring something because she may be shy and not ask. But one of the few times in 3 years I ever went to her house this happens!! Get this, whenever I went (I've only been to her house 3 times including this time) they never ask me if I want anything either.

I get add requests from people I don't even know, a lot of them looking for chemistry help...I find it annoying. Why can't they just e-mail through answers first, rather than presume I will add them in messenger?

I get nervous when people come over because I've been told that you're being rude if you don't offer these things. I tend to just want to talk and see what they want and what I can do.

I met a guy and we struck up a friendly conversation and talked for quite a while. We discovered that we went to the same school. After awhile he had to go home and he said that he would see me around. I said "nice meeting you!" and gave him a hug. Do you think this might have seemed too forward? I'm used to hugging people but do you think some people might be offended by this?

Have you ever been sitting in class, raise your hand to ask your teacher a question, and then accidently call them Mom? It happens to little kids alot, and it happened sometimes when I was little. Does anyone ever remember doing this?

My girlfriend's friend invited her son and her to a birthday party. What i'm asking is if since i am the boyfriend, i can just go with. is it assumed that if you invite one person from a couple that the other one will probably go too? she believes not. I say however. its our weekend day, its fair to assume we will be together. If the tables were turned, i feel that i would just bring her because she is with me. we are a package deal. if im going, she can come if she wants. right or wrong please be honest because i want to know if i am out of line.
