I recently dug up some old memories while moving my household to a new city. I have a very nice (and HUGE) photograph from an ex done his senior year. The subject matter addressed his recently deceased mother. I also found a wooden spoon she cooked with. Granted, he gave these to me, but I've felt weird about them ever since my own mother died.

I've moved near the school he teaches at, and it would be easy enough to contact him. I could just leave them at the office? But, that might seem creepy.... I guess I could attach a letter and explain? Ugh, I've been having weird dreams about it.

Frankly, I'd love to have coffee and ask about his new projects, and see what he's up to. He could easily be married with a child by now. I'm just curious what happened to him, btw, I'm HAPPILY married. I recently saw one of his works at a local gallery and it piqued my interest even more. It feels wrong to just throw these personal artifacts away. aah! nightmare!

I feel let down by many people around me.
I'm having outpatient surgery, which should be ok, but it's under gen'l anesthesia,so that adds complications.

My son is 18 and having growing pains. He started college, lives in the dorm, and is mad at me most of the time. He said he couldn't miss class to pick me up after. He didn't even mention being there during.

It would be nice to have someone hold my hand.
No friends or family here in town, most out of town.
My sister said it's a shame it wasn't on a day she was off, yet she works 2dys week and often swaps.

My boyfriend offered to come after work and pick me up when they discharge me,but has to drive back for a class he teaches. It would've been nice for him to be here now; the surgery is in the AM, but he went to his trivia club mtg.
He has a flexible work schedule, never offered to take the day off and cancel the night class.
I have dropped everything for each of them when in need [ they admit]
My neighbor is taking me.

I've complained to the Landlord about their constant noise (stomping around, moving furniture every day, etc.) but the Landlord doesn't really do much. What can I do that's nasty (but not illegal) to make their life a little more miserable?

I was tought growing up to put food in your mouth using a fork with the prongs down shifting the fork from your left hand to your right after cutting your meat. Now I see R. Ray from T-V and others in dinning rooms using their right hand to hold their food while cutting and putting food in their mouth with the prongs down. Are both correct?

I am sadden by the number of young people I see asking whether they should smoke either to impress a boy or to be cool or for whatever reason.
My grandmother asked me one time if I would feed my dog poison because everytime you smoke a cigarette you are feeding your dog poision. Smoking is a BIG BIG BIG monkey. If you don't think so just look at all of the stop smoking aides in the drugstores. It has been a personal battle for a long time. It takes years for cigarettes to take their effect on your body. But once they do it is to late. If you never start smoking you will never want a cigarette.
I know this may seem dumb. But I know there are a lot of young people on this Yahoo Answers thing. If you are considering smoking please stop to think. You will not be able to just smoke for a little while. You will start the monkey will grow and you will wake up and be 40 years old out of breath and just thinking about your next cigarette.
Just don't smoke.

I am his assistant. Several times now I caught him watching TV instead of doing his work. I am losing respect on this guy. Do I just mind my own business? Nobody checks up on him. He is abusing the system. He thinks he is on holiday whenever he comes to work. He is a physiotherapist. A slacker of a man. Serious anwers only. Will not hesitate to report. Hopefully, he gets what he deserves.

"sue" is the perfect employee when the boss is around.first 1 to volunteer for extra work(for the boss),stays late to help the boss, always agrees with the boss, laughs at everything she says.sue even helps her outside of work(house hunting, man hunting)anything the boss wants she does basicly kisses her a---.now when the boss leaves its a different story.sue will spend all her time on the phone, will make me deal with any difficult clients, and will never do any "favors" for me.now the worst part is she will "throw me in" to the boss.for example some papers got lost and our boss asked her if she had seen them.sue told her i was the one to have them last.true or not(i dont think i had them)why would she throw me in like that?she does this all the time.when i asked her why she did this she looked at me snotty and said "well you did!" and walked off.i'm a single mom so i can't leave right now and talking to my boss will not work as they have become "great freinds"

At my high school, the athletic director just retired. He was an old man, and after 20 years I guess he had had enough. Anyway, the woman who replaced him (school's first ever female AD) is about 30-something years old and has two kids (if that matters). Anyway, because it's a traditionally male role, the AD's office is attached to the boys's locker room, and the only way in and out is to walk directly through the locker room. On the way out there are open showers that can be clearly seen as well as urinals. Is it appropriate for the AD to see these boys naked in the showers or at the urinals? If not what can be done about it? The arrangement right now is kind of getting me angry because I don't want some lady watching me shower after gym class.

My brother and his wife left a couple days ago on a flight out of state to see her family. Two days before they left his wife called us and said to please get their luggage out of my shed, clean it up and have it ready for them to come over and pick up for their trip. Well, we did this and waited and waited on them and they never came. Then they left on their trip without calling or coming to get their luggage. This was a total of 4 suitcases and a carry on bag. I thought it was really inconsiderate and I wonder what they used for luggage. It was a new set (they just got married last year) and I don't know of any other that they had. Weird.

Perhaps I have a bad personality, but I don't always feel like being chatty. As a matter of fact, I rarely feel like chatting up my colleages at school. Thusly I have been sort of a loner and definitely unpopular. Should I care? I obviously do, I wish I didn't.
