In all my years I have never known a medicine cabinet to just fall open.

If your boyfriend is taking anti-depressants he has a medical problem and is being treated for it. You might take that as a sign that here is a sensible person who is taking responsible steps to remain healthy.

If he were not taking anti-depressants, he would probably be depressed, and believe me no fun at all.

For years, I was depressed and finally when I got treatment for it, my life and the lives of those who cared about me, began to improve. I was on the medication for I think three years, and gradually, with the help of my doctor and psychologist, came off of it. Today, I'm happily married and most of the time in the top 10% of my profession.

Your boyfriend taking anti-depressants may be a very good thing indeed.

johnocrea has a good answer! Your boyfriend is a smart man, to seek treatment, you should be very proud of him!
If you wish, tell him the truth, you were snooping, and found the pills, and tell him you love him even more for going to the doctor, and tell him how supportive you will be, and tell him if he wants to talk about why the pills are being prexcribed, you will listen.
Antidepressant therapy is very common these days. Sometimes it is prescribed appropriately, sometimes not. Since you the snoop do not know how serious his depression is, if he really is even clinically depressed, or what the pills were actually prescribed for [one kind is given to smokers to help them stop] give him the opportunity to explain. And tell your sexy self to apologize for your extra wide field of vision, and go buy a better lock for the cabinet door that just happened to open. Insert rueful laugh here______.

Medicine cabinets don't just "fall open."
Fess up and tell him what you did, then ask him about the need.
So much for trust and privacy. You don't say how long he's been your boyfriend, but if this is what he can expect in the future, I expect that he'll learn to hide things better from you.

First off anti-depressants are nothing to get worked up about. Some anti-depressants are used as anti-convulsants for people who have seizures. He probably didn't tell you because he knew you'd get worked up about it. I would just deal with it and move on from this incident. Just give him time to figure out how to tell you what the medication is for. The medicine cabinet didn't just fall open, you opened it yourself. So confess and tell him what you saw and maybe he will tell you what they are for.

The cabinet just didn't fall open. You were snooping. You act as though you found illegal drugs. If you feel comfortable, asking about it, go ahead and do so.

Just happened to fall open, OK. Depends on how your overall relationship is, how open you are about discussing most things. If it bothers you, maybe carefully bring up the subject. At least he has the sense to take care of himself.

they are in a lot of medicine cabinets, I think it is a private matter,
I think if he wanted to tell you he would, and then again maybe they are not even his, but if they were in your field of vision, then you probably did see the name on them.(but don't bring up the subject to him) :)

It's not a problem. A lot of people take medication. I say good for him for using an appropriate strategy to deal with his problems.

Relax! Anitdpressants are so "common" these days-depending on what kind they are, may be to help him with something like anxiety. If you really are so curious, explain to him what happened, and ask him about them. Take care.

Go back to the mirror and ask yourself:

What have you done to make your bf take antidepressants?
