i came back out to my car after doing some shopping and a couple was standing around my car looking suspicious. when i finally got there, they explained that they had hit my car while parking into the space next to mine. it was very late and only a few cars in the parking lot, with TONS of free parking spaces, and for some reason this woman tried to stick her big ol' car next to mine. well she FAILED. anyway, i inspected the bumper, and while it was a pretty good scrape it was not enough that the police would've written a report for if i had called them. i asked for their names and their insurance information, and they refused, instead insisting that we just call the police. i wasn't going to wait around for any police, i just wanted to go the hell home. i decided to spare them the police or a claim on their insurance (if they even had it, ha-ha...), but before i left, i told them basically to do the world a f***ing favor and take a driving lesson. was i too mean?

Our local pizza place accepts credit cards. When they deliver the pizza, they bring the receipt to be signed. Most of the time they forget a pen. Obviously I've learned to bring my own pen to the door, but itsn't it their responsibility/customer courtesy to offer a pen? (I've also started tipping more for delivery people whodo remember a pen!)

police do not help , but might add to the aggravation of the situation, what can a person(s do when they are taken advantage of by loud abusive neighbors, music, remarks, just all around unpleasantness, of course we want to move, and frankly away from this particular nationality of people, who want to control everythng we see and do and who we talk with, they object to us talking with italians, blacks and hispanix, and even people of the other political party, who they oppose, life is made very difficult by these people, who also object to us talking with jewish people, british and german people, oh and the french, we live in nyc and in a neighborhood where these people and their culture is everywhere, i for one would certainly not march in their parades in March, and as for the religion of roman catholics, i would avoid them at every turn, please do not tell us to move, we are aware of this, it is so difficult to find a place, i would prefer to move from the state entirly

I have a treadmill in my basement that I use daily while my toddler plays in the adjacent playroom. My neighbor, who has an infant and toddler, has been hinting that she'd like to use it during the winter when the weather is bad. How can I politely say that I'd rather not?

A Japanese girl from my class said in front of her other classmates that she didn't wish to join us for dinner next week for several reasons: 1. she doesn't like to join a big group for dinner
2. she doens't like to hear people chattin in English OR Japanese.
This remark made us feel awkward and even a bit uneasy. What do you think of this kind of remarks? Do you think she was being rude or plain honest? Thanks for your input.

Alright I was at the movies on Saturday. I had a child about 8 ask me if the seat next to me was taken. He whispered it. As I turned to answer him an older man behind me says to the child, 'SHHHHH, YOU BE QUIET!' Very rudely & uncalled for the movie hadn't even started yet. Well, I shook my head at the old man, then turned to the child & said, 'No it's not taken & of course you can have it.'

Haha fun begins his dad is walking down the isle & says to the older man, 'Hey you shut up, don't talk to my kid that way!' He says this while getting in the older guys face. Then the old man starts hitting him a fight breaks out between the two of them. Now the younger guy is standing over you to hit the older guy. Nobody is doing anything no security is coming in there is a bunch of teenagers (chanting fight, fight, fight…) & children in the theater. You being a small girl (if your not a small girl pretend you are) what do you do?

Yesterday, for my anniversary, I took my wife to dinner to the same nice Italian restaurant we had our first date. I wanted to do something to make her dinner extra extra special so I called and asked the manager if it would be possible to have a doz roses brought to our table. He said he would arrange it. When we sat down there were the flowers and a personally written anniv. card. At dinner, the manager brought us appetizers he picked out and at the end of our meal, a desert. When we finished our meal and got the check, I found that the appetizers and desert were on the house. When I went to the manager to ask about paying for the doz roses, he said that there was no charge and that he just wanted to make our aniversary special. I tipped the waiter very well & am wondering though, about tipping the manager. I shook his hand and thanked him for accomodating my request for flowers and the complimentary food but is it appropriate (or expected) to give a restaurant MANAGER a tip

I am against spitting in general. It's gross and discussing. No one should do it. Usually it is done by guys. But lately, I've noticed a new trend of black girls and women spitting.

The other day, a young black girl opened the bus window to spit. I've seen this older black woman who was all decked out in very professional work clothing spit as well. The spitting just made her look ridiculous as it didn't go along with her look.

Now I've waited to build my argument until I saw it 3 more times after I started to notice it. It has happened often enough that it is now starting to look like some new fad. Why are black girls and women now spitting? Does anyone know? Is there some new pop-star/artist setting this new discussing standard?

Have you noticed this? What do you think?

When you go on a diet, they bring sugar free desserts. When you need money, they bring gift cards. When you need a new computer they bring you their old one. When you want to get a buff body, they bring you an excercise tape. Why then, if my new years resolution is to become a hard core alcoholic, won't people bring me booze, wine or hooch of any sort? This is really vexing me??

My friend wanted to have a dinner party at my place for some guest, which my roommate and I agreed was alright. Any how, she bought all the groceries to make the dinner. Note, my roommate is the one who ended up cooking everything. Any how, the friend also didn't offer to clean up afterwards because she ended up going out afterwards. The icing on the cake, she calls the next day to ask to come over to get the leftovers? In my opinion, I think that is so tacky and innappropriate. Am I over-reacting? I want to say something, but I don't know the appropriate etiquette way to go about the situation. Any suggestions? I'm more baffled that she would call the next day for leftovers.

Here is the problem: I am such a shy person. I don't have too many interests, and I'm not very witty. I have been with my gf for awhile now, and I don't understand how she puts up with me. I never have much to say, but I love her and her daugher so much. There are times when we just sit there and say nothing. I've asked her about all this, and surprisingly, she says that whenever she thinks about me, she smiles. She says that she doesn't know how I can be with her. She is insecure too. She says that she loves me, but how? She is not the funnest person either, but when she talks to some of her friends, I notice that she smiles and laughs alot. I wish I can make her laugh like her friends do. She seems to have so many stories to tell about her life, but I never have much to say because I've had a bad past. I do sweet things for her such as interact with her daughter (I'm always fun with her daughter), take her out, and take care of her when she's sick. Can we survive?

I went into a bathroom (unisex, public, marble floors, sculptures..etc) at a construction company I was working with. I looked through the vanity cabinet to try to locate a band-aid.

In the bottom drawer my search revealed, a drawer *FULL* of the filthiest, raunchiest pornographic magazines I have ever seen.

I mentioned it to my superior, and he responded with "Thats normal. It's like that everywhere, Is this your first time in construction?"

Aside from being highly unprofessional, is this in fact normal for this type of job?

What do you think?
